Klang Valley and Melaka enter NRP Phase 4 on 18th October 2021

Good news and also a warning for this NRP Phase 4

Good news indeed when I heard about it today. Hopefully everyone really appreciate this latest announcement and really do not go and cause lots of new Covid-19 clusters. Remember yeah, just the news about Melaka state election is already such a potential big thing and now with this further relaxation, Covid-19 virus will be looking for every opportunity to make a strong comeback. Deny it please…

Article in nst.com.my Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that the Klang Valley and Melaka will enter Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) effective Monday. Meanwhile, Kelantan, Perak, Penang, Sabah and Kedah, meanwhile, will move from Phase 2 to Phase 3.

He said the decision to transition the states was made based on the dip in fresh Covid-19 infections, decline in overall infectivity rate, or R-naught, and the high adult vaccination rate. He said, “The infectivity rate or R-naught also continued to decline, registering a figure below the 1.0 level at 0.86.”

Meanwhile the vaccination rate of the adult population for the first dose stood at 95 per cent as at yesterday. Ismail Sabri said the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for states entering Phases 3 and 4 are available on the National Security Council (NSC) official website at www.mkn.gov.my. Keep it up yeah. Masks on, Social Distance on and Alertness level continue to be on

I could feel some people start to think that things are getting okay, so it’s okay to do many things they did not dare to do previously. For example, simply going to anywhere they like and somehow forgetting to wear the mask correctly, somehow forgetting to sanitize the hands frequently and even forgetting that the children are still unvaccinated and thus definitely need more protection at this moment.

Hiking where there’s full social distancing is of course okay. Dining in open areas and with really huge social distancing should be okay (I am not as comfortable yet). However, bring them to pasar malam for example…? Or to the market? Or even to some gathering of friends? Let’s hope nothing bad happens and that we get to keep this status and looking forward to the next stage of normalisation where we start to allow vaccinated foreigners back into Malaysia.

I am very happy we reached this stage. They say this is called cautiously optimistic. Yeah, that’s the word. Happy enjoying NRP Phase 4 everyone in Klang Valley.
