Sony Malaysia and PPB Properties Invite Malaysians to Capture Penang’s  Living Heritage

Sony Malaysia, in collaboration with PPB Properties, is inviting  photography enthusiasts and visual storytellers to rediscover Penang through their lenses at the Penang  Heritage Photography Fiesta 2026, taking place at New World Park, Penang, on Sunday, 18  October 2026. 

Returning for its fifth edition, the Penang Heritage Photography Fiesta celebrates the people, culture  and everyday moments that make Penang unique. This year, participants will take on a Photo Hunt  inspired themes – challenging them to look beyond familiar landmarks and capture the human stories,  vibrant details and living heritage found throughout the city. 

More than a photography competition, the Fiesta is designed as a day of creativity, learning and  discovery, bringing together photographers of different experience levels with a shared passion for  visual storytelling. 

Through the collaboration, Sony Malaysia and PPB Properties aim to encourage more Malaysians to  explore their creativity, discover new perspectives and celebrate Penang through photography. From its  people and traditions to its architecture, streets and everyday moments, the Photo Hunt gives  participants the opportunity to tell their own stories of Penang through the images they create. 

Bringing Penang’s stories to life 

Participants will have the opportunity to gain creative insights from experienced visual storytellers  Vincent Thian and William Ooi, who will share their perspectives and experiences in photography.  

For participants who would like to experience Sony imaging technology, a limited number of Sony  camera loan units will also be available during the Photography Fiesta. 

The competition will feature two categories – Youth and Open, giving both emerging and experienced  photographers the opportunity to put their creativity and visual storytelling skills to the test. 

A range of Sony prizes will be awarded to the winning photographers, with the Grand Prize winner  receiving a Sony ILCE-7CM2L/B camera kit. Winners across the Youth and Open categories will also stand a chance to take home the ZV-e10K Vlog Camera and the WH-1000XM6 Noise-Cancelling  Headphones giving participants even more reason to turn their perspectives of Penang into memorable  images.
