Compare 4-Star Hotel Prices: Osaka vs Busan vs Melbourne

Year End Travel Choices: 4-star hotels in Osaka, Busan and Melbourne

Hotel is usually the biggest portion in our holiday travels

Imagine traveling to somewhere for one week. If it’s a flight within Malaysia, probably the flight prices alone could be a few hundred ringgit but the hotel rates for a 4-star hotel for one week will definitely be higher than flight fare. If we are flying to another country, the flight ticket is usually over a thousand ringgit but at the same time, the hotel rates for one full week would be higher than the flight ticket price.

Since it’s towards the year end and many people could be thinking about holidays, how about knowing which place has cheaper or more expensive hotel rates between Osaka, Busan and Melbourne? I have been to both Osaka and Melbourne but has never been to Busan before. It’s a pleasant surprise for me too. Take a look until the very end to know why I say so.

Three sites which I use; booking.com, Agoda.com and Enrichhotels.com

For the below quick research, I used booking.com most of the time and agoda.com occasionally while I it was my very first time using Enrichhotels.com just recently as I was using my enrich points to exchange for hotel stays for my trip to Nagoya in January 2026. It’s hard to select between booking.com and Agoda.com but enrichhotels.com has lowest number of hotels if compared to the other two. Do take a look and see what I found out about hotel rates in Osaka, Melbourne and Busan.

4-star hotel in Osaka for one week, must be with 8++ reviews

Prices range from just below RM500 per night to RM564 per night. Actually, not too bad yeah. It’s either due to current issue between Japan and China or due to the strengthening ringgit but the price does seem to be attractive enough. So, if we stay at 3-star or even lower, the prices would be even lower. Thus far, the cleanliness of hotels in Japan is pretty guaranteed.

4-star hotel in Melbourne for one week, must be with 8++ reviews

Prices range from just RM357 to RM370 per nights. Again, prices looking very attractive. In fact staying within the CBD area meant that it’s within the trams and the trains. So traveling around is easy and one could also walk if needed too. Melbourne is a very walk-friendly city. With these prices, it could also mean that if we stay at lower end hotels, then the price per night is even lower.

4-star hotel in Busan for one week, must be with 8++ reviews

Prices range from just RM221 all the way to RMRM419 per night. This is the most attractive of all and now I trust what my friend said when she told me to go and visit Busan because there are lots to see, feel and experience and the hotels are affordable too. I have since checked. Flights are also cheaper from KL to Busan versus KL to Osaka or KL to Melbourne too. Who knows, next year may be my first time to Busan. What about you?
