Ready for another casino in ASEAN? Planning for a visit?

I have been to a number of casinos. Within Malaysia, I have been to the SkyCasino in Genting Highlands. When I was in Perth, I dropped by the Crown Casino Burswood in Perth. I have also been to the one in Resorts World Sentosa, the Baha Mar Casino in The Bahamas and even a casino in South Korea (during honeymoon) which obviously I could not remember its name anymore. I have won in all these casinos except the one in Perth. Okay, the total loss is higher but I have actually won some money in all the casinos listed here including the one in Genting Highland, Singapore, in the Bahamas and in South Korea too.

Every US$10 spent, US$1 belongs to tourism in 2024!

I love to travel. I long for the days when I could choose when to travel and could take up AirAsia’s free tickets offer anytime they offer it. Or whichever airline has special price but the dates are non holidays o0r low season dates. Traveling broadens the mind and helps us to understand… the property market even better! Haha. Just the other day, I was in Los Angeles, I wrote this article about their property price. Read here: Which is your preference? Higher food prices or higher property price?,

Going Japan for a holiday? ‘Authorization’ is needed for Malaysians.

I think I have been to around 20 countries thus far. The country I love the most is Japan. Culturally it’s deep. Technologically advanced, even the toilets! Sights and sounds wise, second to none. From the hills to the temples and to the sea side. Bullet trains are always on time, even just after the tsunami in 2011. Yes, I was there when the earthquake happened and then the tsunami happened. At the time, my parents could not reach me and the news kept showing destruction and deaths.

Hosting Olympics is a cost or an investment?

What’s your thought? I was speaking to the Lyft (Uber’s competitor) driver who’s already over 50 years old in Los Angeles just yesterday. Yes, I am now in Los Angeles. He was one ardent fan of the Olympics and he told me how he was looking forward to the Olympics which will be held in Los Angeles in 2024. He shared how he wanted to be a volunteer and hopes that it will be the biggest Olympics ever because it is now happening in the US. I wished him all the best but coming back to the financial part.

If I win RM23 million, what would I do?

Do you buy Toto? If you are, all the best to you okay. With my wish, if you win, please treat me coffee and cakes.

As for me, I do not buy Toto 4D regularly. I buy only when there are some significant events. So, maybe one year I would probably buy 2 times, at most. If I remember very correctly, I won once thus far. Something like RM250 or whatever small amount. I also usually just buy RM5 just for fun. So, the following news about RM23 million will never happen to me. Haha. So, what would I do if I won RM23 million? Let’s read the news first.

Pretending as a royal to skip the queue for concert. Hmm…

I hate queuing for food. Perhaps 10 minutes is okay but I will never queue for even half an hour no matter how famous the restaurant is. I will come another day or I will find another place. I have a friend who refused to even queue for food because he said, “I am not a prisoner…” I think his comments are a litttle extreme but nevertheless, I think people dislike queuing. However, I will never try to skip a queue if I am in a queue. Fairness is important to me and whoever came earlier should go in first and it should be first arrive, first to go in.

Upgrading living room with a larger sized TV. My learnings.

Just AFTER the COVID lockdown started in 2020, my 50 inch Samsung TV broke down. It’s not a smart TV but I have turned it into a smart TV with the Mi TV Stick. Sigh… No TV and everyone has to be at home the whole day? Plus a 5 year old and a 7 year old? Yea, it was such a crazy time NOT to have a working TV, right. As soon as it was allowed, I went and bought a new 50 inch Philips LED Smart TV (not my favourite brand but beggars cannot be choosers). The shop was just 1.5km away from my home. That’s as close as possible already. If I remember correctly, I paid around RM2600 for that TV.

Coffee. Cafe. Not Luxury. Delivery. Simple Formula. Property Investment Thoughts?

I was meeting a valuer who has over 6,000 followers yesterday evening. He gave a presentation just last week during the Malaysia Land Conference and I learnt a lot of new knowledge from him. I have known him for some time but has not heard him speak and I think more organisations need to invite him to share his wealth of knowledge. He is Henry Heng. Follow him on LinkedIn here: Henry Heng, MBA, Valuer (Asset and Business). We met at a brand which is today my favourite as I could just order and then drive by the cafe to pick up my coffee. It’s ZUS COFFEE.
