If I win RM23 million, what would I do?
Do you buy Toto? Do you buy that lottery every now and then and hope that you will get the grand prize? Or maybe one of the major prizes on offer? If you are, all the best to you okay. With my wish, if you win, please treat me coffee and cakes.
As for me, I do not buy Toto 4D regularly. I buy only when there are some significant events. So, maybe one year I would probably buy 2 times, at most. If I remember very correctly, I won once thus far. Something like RM250 or whatever small amount. I also usually just buy RM5 just for fun. So, the following news about RM23 million will never happen to me. Haha. So, what would I do if I won RM23 million? Let’s read the news first.
Article in nst.com.my. July proved a lucky month for a medical practitioner from Pahang, who won the RM23.3 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1 by buying a System 7 ticket, including a set of numbers which he randomly picked.
The 77-year-old told STM Lottery Sdn Bhd he had only six sets of 4D numbers, including the registration plate of his wife’s car, so he decided to come up with a random set of four numbers which were similar to the car registration plate.
“I chose the pair of winning numbers which looked like each other and sounded lucky — ‘9938 and 8388’,” he said of the ticket he bought on July 24.
The septuagenarian, however, is not keeping his winnings, preferring instead to gift them to his children. Do read here fo more details: Article in nst.com.my.
What would I do?
I would just stop working full time and travel a lot more. Just leave the RM23 million in the bank and just travel with the interest payment. RM23 million at 3 percent interest is RM690,000 per year. This is RM57,500 per month. More than enough for the typical travels and vacations at nice hotels. Anyway, without the need to work, I can buy the cheapest flights based on the days when it is cheapest. That’s why sometimes when people become very rich, it is very hard for them to become poor lah.
Sorry… I was dreaming. With my two growing kids, I think I will have to wait until they finish their studies before I could do so. So, perhaps in the mean time, just buy my wife a new car, perhaps an EV. For me, my car is okay lah. No need to change. Will just let the money continue to accumulate and then only do my plan once both of them are in the university. I think still okay lah, just 6 years for the elder and 8 years for the younger.
