Second Penang Bridge, Second Chance for Batu Kawan

I drove past the second Penang Bridge today, from Batu Maung to Batu Kawan. Halfway through, I saw many cars stopping and I followed. Took a few photos and continued driving. It was a very nice experience. I felt proud that this is once again the longest Bridge in South East Asia. This is also where I would be running my very first full marathon. I completed a half-marathon before a few years ago. As I reached the end of the bridge and into Batu Kawan I felt that perhaps, with the second bridge, Batu Kawan may have a second chance.
My friend from Ipoh and in fact many bought into the fact that the second bridge may potentially be a catalyst and bought properties in Batu Kawan many years ago. Well, my friend has never stayed there yet because he had wanted to sell but the price was not right. I do not think the price may suddenly go up but I now have a positive feeling. If a reputable developer launches a proper condominium project at an attractive price, say Rm350psf for their first phase? I may just buy one, or at least I would make an effort to view their show unit, bringing along many friends as usual.
I saw large pieces of lands on my left and on my right and my father who was with me in my car said, ‘I think they will build here soon’. I told him, I seriously think they would. Many huge developers have planted their flags on Batu Kawan. Though very far away still but IKEA is coming in 2020. Before that we have a UK university, University of Southampton opening its doors first. Yes, this is the same Southampton in the English Premier League which has been doing pretty well this season. Any possibility for the final assurance? New Penang international airport? Triple its current size?
