RM6 billion GDV to be launched in Johor: One Bukit Senyum

I must admit that while I know of a property developer called Astaka, I have no idea about their RM6 billion gross development value (GDV) “One Bukit Senyum” which will be launched in 2016. RM6 billion is huge and if the sales go well would meant Astaka’s total sales for 2016 should propel it to the front of the pack besides the usual few names that we use to read all time. It was reported in Bernama a few days ago. The size of the project is 4.8 hectare (11.9 acres) and it will comprise signature Grade-A offices, high-end retail, 5-star hotels and serviced residences. It includes The Astaka @ One Bukit Senyum which will be the tallest residential building in Malaysia and Singapore. (WOW).

It’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Zamani Kasim, said “When a number of developments come on-line and are sales-ready at the same time, this spike can look hyper-inflated. He revealed that The Astaka @ One Bukit Senyum has already achieved 70 per cent sales currently.
Some time back, I wrote this: Nothing in Iskandar yet for me but does not mean it’s nothing to me My views remain the same. Iskandar would have to be successful because Singapore is right next door and vice-versa. It (relationship) has to be a fruitful relationship because there is just no way that Singaporean businesses can stay competitive if their manufacturing operations are operating from within Singapore itself. Of course, one may argue that Singapore does not need to build their manufacturing hub in Iskandar, it could be in some other places or country. Okay, I wish them all the best then. Oh yeah, do not forget that Singapore has this goal too. Not 6.9 million please.
