This company is looking to invest RM32 billion in my home state, Perak.

Article in malaymail.com Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co Ltd (Geely), a key investor in the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV) project in Tanjung Malim, Perak, has presented its masterplan to the Perak government, marking a significant step forward in the project’s development.

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the state government will review and potentially approve the plan in a meeting this September.

According to previous reports, the RM32 billion AHTV megaproject, spearheaded by Geely with DRB-Hicom Bhd, is set to transform Tanjung Malim into a global automotive hub. Article in malaymail.com

Give them the flexibility to transform Perak into a major EV producer please

If EV is really the key, then it’s time to ensure the top 4 manufacturer does as much if not ALL of their EV manufacturing here within Perak for the right hand drive. Imagine the market in the whole ASEAN. Sorry yeah if anyone still thinks Thailand is the king when it comes to car manufacturing because if EV indeed will take over market shares from the petrol engined car, then no country has any edge as we speak yeah.

Let’s see what happens in the next 5 years because Geely technically has a ‘home’ in Malaysia while Thailand has no ‘home’ brands. There are no countries in the world without their own home brands which could sustain their manufacturing activities. All the best to Perak.
