Penang Technology Park has a GDV of RM4.2 billion

Penang is a hub for engineers, definitely.

My brother and my two brother-in-laws are still in Penang and all three are engineers. All three has every intention to continue to be in the engineering field in Penang. All three has more than one property and are all contributing to the economy of Penang wholeheartedly too. I think there are many well-planned Free-Trade-Zone parks which has been supporting the state’s economic growth. We now have another one known an Penang Technology Park @ Bertam. It will be spearheaded by a local property development outfit; Ideal Property Group.

Article in The new Penang Technology Park@Bertam, which will be completed in two years, will be the next exciting satellite city for Penang, according to Ideal Property Group executive chairman Tan Sri Datuk Alex Ooi.

Ooi further said that the technology park, with a gross development value of RM4.2 billion, represented a new milestone for the Group.

Penang Technology Park is situated on 356 hectares of freehold property in the municipality of Bertam. It will be the first cutting-edge technology park built in the North Seberang Perai district.

Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the project was a timely boost for the state as it will spur the development of other related projects, especially in the north Seberang Perai district. Do read the full article here: Article in

Penang will not be growing like the Klang Valley but Penang is the only Pearl of the Orient yeah

There are not many islands which has electronics manufacturing and R&D hub status like Penang. Within this electronics hub is Georgetown which is a UNESCO World Heritage City. In other words, modern technology and cultural and historical significance are both within the same island. Coupled this with Penang International Airport which is the 3rd busiest airport in Malaysia and one is well connected to the world!

I have not even started to talk about all the famous food in Penang yet. It’s a melting pot yeah and it’s super hard to pinpoint just one food which one loves. Yes, I continue to own properties in Penang and thinkf of it as my home too as I was based in Penang for the first 15 years of my working life after degree. Keep up the good news yeah.
