Just RM450 per month to own the new 1.5 litre Saga?

Just RM450 per month to own the new 1.5 litre Saga*? (9-year loan yeah…)

How my sister’s Proton Saga BLM helped me earn some money

When my sister bought her very first car, a Proton Saga BLM (photo below), she told me. She told me she bought the blue colored one. She named it ‘small blue’ in Mandarin. The day after, I started to see Proton Saga BLM everywhere. Then I have a thought, maybe I should buy the shares since Proton was selling so many Saga BLMs? I bought a number of shares below RM2 and within less than 12 months, when they announced good set of financials, I sold off those shares at RM4. Yes, handsome profits indeed.

Price is between RM40,000 to RM50,000

The lowest priced Proton Saga today is the 1.3 Manual version which is priced at RM34,800. The next in the range would the cheapest automatic and it’s at RM38,800. So, the new Proton Saga 1.5 which starts at RM40,000 is considered a steal yeah.

Article in paultan.org “Yes, you can now put down your name for a new Saga. The indicative price range is between RM40k and RM50k, revealed by the Proton’s new Deputy CEO Datuk Abdul Rashid Musa in a livestream moments ago, where Proton also announced an early bird launch package – more on this later..” Article in paultan.org

1.5 litre, powerful engine, low fuel consumption and just a little above the current model?!

My late father and my brother then bought the new generation Saga which was the Saga FL and recently, Proton has launched it’s 4th generation (they say one okay) and the pricing is said to be between RM40,000 to RM50,000. Currently, Proton’s cheapest automatic Proton Saga 1.3 has a price of RM38,800. Well, for an extra RM1,200 we get a brand new 1.5 litre Proton Saga, it does seem like value for money lah. The specs are also pretty decent if you ask me.

Yes, please feel free to compare to other so-called NO NATIONAL car markets all around the region for some understanding on the price of a 1.5 litre sedan car yeah. Please do not compare a 1 litre car or a 1.3 litre car etc yeah. 1.5 litre proper sedan as a comparison.

Full specs as below

Source: Paultan.org (They have a full review of the car, not yet test drive review but full review and you can get all the specs and comments and photos in their website too. I attach just one of it below. Yes, I told my wife I want to go and take a closer look soon.

Calculation for a 9 year loan here.

Please do feel free to pay quickly and just use 5 years or 7 years yeah. The below is based on 9 years. For price, I just use the higher end of the automatic 1.3 model which is RM41,000++. So, the actual monthly repayment could be lower lah, as long as interest rate is at 3 percent or lower. Take a look:

Why buying a car is necessary but buying a property is compulsory?

Buying a decent car at a decent price can definitely help us in buying a property in future yeah. The more we pay on this side will mean less money on the other side. The salary does not change yeah. We have to change how we spend what we earn to make things possible or impossible. Just a choice which we have to make when we decide to buy that RM100,000 car instead. Do read the article on why I believe so here: Buy a car and lose the property potential. How is this possible?

Happy deciding. There are no links to buy yeah. You can go to the nearest Proton sales gallery. Cheers.
