Radium Brings 4-Star Hospitality to Ampang with The FACE Chancery Hotel

Press Release: Radium Brings 4-Star Hospitality to Ampang with The FACE Chancery Hotel

Radium Development Berhad (“Radium” or the “Group”)  today unveiled The FACE Chancery Hotel, the branded hospitality component of its mixed-use  development, Chancery – marking the Group’s first venture into the hospitality sector.

The hotel represents a RM135 million investment, of which RM109.3 million had been  earmarked from Radium’s 2023 public listing proceeds, and forms part of the Group’s strategy  to build recurring income alongside its core property business.

Slated to open in 2028, the hotel will occupy Levels 10 to 14 of the 51-storey tower, with 145  rooms across Super King, Queen, accessible, and connecting configurations. The operations  of the hotel are anticipated to stabilise by the third year of operation, with a projected  occupancy rate of 55% to 65% (for the first 3 years). It is projected to generate annual revenue  of approximately RM20 million (by the 3rd year).

Datuk Gary Gan Kah Siong, Group Managing Director of Radium Development Berhad,  said: “Chancery was always conceived as more than a residential address. The hotel brings in  a different demand cycle – corporate travellers, tourists, and extended-stay guests – and that  activity strengthens the overall development. For Radium, it also marks a deliberate shift  toward building recurring income that complements our property business over the long term.”

Filling a Gap in Ampang’s Hospitality Market

Ampang sits on Kuala Lumpur’s Embassy Row and has grown steadily as a residential and  commercial address, yet branded hotel options in the corridor remain limited. The FACE Chancery Hotel steps into that gap with a clear, well-defined offer.

The 4-star hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, poolside dining, an infinity-edge pool,  a gymnasium, and meeting rooms. Rooms are intentionally larger than the city hotel norm – built to serve corporate guests, long-stay visitors, and leisure travellers who need more space  and flexibility than a standard room allows. Guests will also benefit from digital check-in, smart  in-room controls, and in-room hot and cold water dispensers, the latter designed to reduce  reliance on single-use plastic.

To be operated by Radium’s subsidiary, Tradisi Emas Sdn Bhd, the Group has appointed The  FACE Hospitality as the hotel consultancy partner for this venture. Their role spans the full  development journey – from brand positioning and design planning through to operational flow  and market alignment. With a strong track record in Kuala Lumpur’s hospitality scene and an  existing loyal customer base, The FACE Hospitality brings both the expertise and the brand  equity that a first hospitality venture demands.

This partnership was equally driven by a clear market signal. The FACE Hospitality’s existing  properties in Kuala Lumpur are currently experiencing strong demand – a reflection of the  brand’s established pull and the city’s appetite for quality hospitality. For Radium, this  presented a timely and compelling business opportunity: to bring a proven, in-demand brand  into Chancery as part of its first hospitality venture, rather than building brand recognition from  the ground up.

Mr. Jason S’ng, Cluster General Manager of The FACE Hospitality, said: “The FACE Chancery Hotel is not just another development – it represents a bold and calculated entry into  one of the most competitive segments of real estate. Situated in the dynamic Ampang corridor,  this project is well-positioned to capture both business and leisure demand within Kuala  Lumpur. We are not just advising on a development. We are shaping its identity, defining its  market position, and together with Radium, laying the foundation for long-term success.”

Built for a City That Never Sleeps

Kuala Lumpur runs around the clock – and Chancery was built for exactly that reality. Each  component of the development serves a distinct purpose, yet together they function as a  single, self-sustaining urban address. The hybrid SOHO units offer the flexibility to work from  home or operate as a business address – serving owner-occupiers, entrepreneurs, and remote  workers alike.

The FACE Chancery Hotel, in the meantime, brings hospitality services, including food and  beverage offerings, directly into the development, creating added convenience and vibrancy  for residents and guests alike. This hospitality component complements the broader vision of  Chancery as a well-connected destination where living, working and leisure experiences come  together seamlessly. Additionally, a 10,000 sq. ft. lifestyle park anchors the community at  ground level, providing a welcoming shared space for residents and visitors to gather and  unwind.

Chancery is also a pet-friendly development – an increasingly important consideration for  today’s urban buyer, for whom lifestyle and community feel are just as relevant as price and  location.

The development sits approximately 500 metres from the proposed MRT 3 Tasik Ampang  Station. When completed, the rail link will strengthen connectivity for residents, hotel guests,  and retail visitors – widening the catchment and reinforcing Chancery’s growing relevance as  an urban destination in its own right.

Chancery is scheduled for completion in Q1 2028, with The FACE Chancery Hotel targeted to  open in 2028.
