EPF’s i-Citra. What, Where, When and How?

PF’s i-Citra. What, Where, When and How? As for the WHY, EPF’s banner below states it very clearly. This is a facility to members who were affected by the current Covid-19 lockdown.

What is it?

It is a payment of RM1,000 monthly for up to 5 months. Minimum amount payable is RM50. This means if one has RM10,000 then one can apply for this. If you have just RM4,000 then you may have up to RM1,000 x 3 times since the minimum amount remaining in the account has to be RM100. If one has just RM1,000 in the account, then the payment will be less than RM1,000 and subjected to a mininum remaining amount of RM100 in Account 1.

1. Mengapakah Pengeluaran i-Citra diperkenalkan?

Pengeluaran i-Citra diperkenalkan untuk memberi kemudahan kewangan tambahan kepada ahli yang terkesan akibat PKP bagi memenuhi keperluan asas untuk kelangsungan hidup mereka.

2. Siapakah yang layak memohon?

  1. Ahli KWSP yang berumur 55 tahun ke bawah, termasuk bukan warganegara dan pemastautin tetap; dan; (As long as you are EPF member, does not need to be citizen or PR)
  2. Mempunyai jumlah simpanan sekurang-kurangnya RM150 dalam Akaun KWSP pada tarikh permohonan. (MINIMUM of RM150 in the account meant that the member could only withdraw RM50 because a minimum amount of RM100 must be maintained in Account 1)

3. Bolehkah ahli yang merupakan anggota perkhidmatan awam dan berada dalam skim perkhidmatan berpencen memohon i-Citra?

Anggota perkhidmatan awam boleh memohon i-Citra. Walau bagaimanapun, mereka berkemungkinan akan berdepan dengan risiko menggunakan syer kerajaan yang perlu dikembalikan kepada kerajaan kelak.

4. Berapakah amaun pengeluaran yang layak dikeluarkan?

  1. Amaun kelayakan pengeluaran adalah sehingga maksimum RM5,000.
  2. Bayaran bulanan akan dibuat sehingga lima (5) bulan.
  3. Bayaran yang ditetapkan adalah RM1,000 sebulan atau tertakluk kepada jumlah baki simpanan.
  4. Bayaran minimum adalah RM50
  5. Meninggalkan baki sekurang-kurangnya RM100 dalam Akaun 1
  6. Amaun kelayakan pengeluaran adalah berdasarkan jumlah simpanan ahli pada tarikh permohonan diproses setelah ditolak bayaran i-Sinar yang akan datang (jika ada)

5. Mengapakah amaun maksimum i-Citra dihadkan kepada RM5,000 sahaja?

Amaun maksimum RM5,000 bertujuan membantu ahli untuk menampung kelangsungan hidup dengan mengimbangi keperluan simpanan persaraan. (Maximum amount is RM5,000 because this is to give members the money for cost of living currently and yet to balance the need of funds for retirement in the future)

6. Mengapakah ahli perlu mengekalkan simpanan minimum di dalam Akaun 1 sebanyak RM100?

Simpanan minimum RM100 perlu dikekalkan dalam Akaun 1 agar dapat mengekalkan status sebagai ahli KWSP serta layak untuk mendapat manfaat yang berkenaan. (Manfaat Bantuan Kematian & Bantuan Hilang Upaya)

7. Bilakah permohonan i-Citra boleh dibuat?

Permohonan boleh dibuat mulai 15 Julai 2021 hingga 30 September 2021. (Application starts from 15th July to 30th September)

8. Bagaimanakah cara untuk memohon Pengeluaran i-Citra?

Permohonan hanya secara dalam talian melalui portal icitra.kwsp.gov.my. Bagaimanapun, portal ini hanya boleh diakses bermula 15 Julai 2021. Maklumat lanjut mengenainya akan dimaklumkan dalam masa terdekat. (Applications can ONLY be done in icitra.kwsp.gov.my. This portal will be available starting from 15th July 2021. PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE ELSE WHO TELLS YOU THEY CAN APPLY FOR YOU.)

9. Bolehkah ahli memohon i-Citra sekiranya telah memohon i-Lestari dan i-Sinar?

Boleh, tertakluk kepada kelayakan seperti yang dinyatakan dalam Soalan 2.

10. Bilakah bayaran i-Citra mula dibuat?

Bayaran bagi permohonan yang dibuat pada bulan Julai dijangka dibayar bermula bulan Ogos 2021. (Payment will start from August for those who applied in July)

11. Bolehkah simpanan dalam Akaun Emas digunakan untuk Pengeluaran i-Citra?

Simpanan Akaun Emas tidak boleh digunakan untuk i-Citra. Rujuk kelayakan memohon di soalan 2.

12. Bagaimanakah ahli boleh menyemak jumlah simpanan KWSP mereka?

Ahli boleh menyemak jumlah simpanan mereka melalui:

  1. i-Akaun (Ahli)
  2. Aplikasi mudah alih i-Akaun
  3. Kios KWSP (termasuk kios KWSP di premis pihak ketiga)

It’s not an easy time but EPF savings is really for the future

Taking the money out will mean losing double or triple the amount in the future. The reason is because EPF pays dividends on the amount which we have in the EPF savings. Taking them out means losing the potential dividends which will easily double or triple the amount in the future when we retire. Thus, RM5,000 which we withdraw today could actually be worth RM10,000, RM15,000 or more depending on when we retire. If we understand this implication, please do proceed to apply.
