Recognising the growing role of pets in modern family life, a dedicated Pet Zone has been thoughtfully introduced, providing pet owners with a welcoming outdoor space to spend quality time with their companions while connecting with neighbours who share the same passion.

Following its encouraging response from the community, IJM Land plans to further enhance the area by expanding the Pet Zone, creating additional open spaces where pets can play freely, and residents can continue to enjoy a vibrant, pet-friendly environment together.

FAMILY BONDING: A LANDMARK OF UNITY

Standing at the centre of S2 Lake Park is the striking Family Bonding (Where Unity Forms) sculpture created by renowned Malaysian sculptor Nizam Abdullah.

Constructed using metal and steel elements, the sculpture rises approximately 6.6 metres high and spans 7.5 metres wide. At first glance, its bold red panels appear fragmented and abstract. Yet when viewed from the right perspective, the pieces align to reveal the silhouette of a family, a father, a mother and two children walking together.

The sculpture invites visitors to walk around it, gradually discovering how separate fragments can come together to form a meaningful whole.

“Family is not always immediately visible. It is revealed through perspective,” said Nizam Abdullah.

“When I designed this sculpture, I wanted to reflect the way families grow and remain connected through different stages of life. The fragmented forms represent moments of challenge, distance and change that every family experiences. When viewed with patience and understanding, these fragments align and reveal unity.

“The materials also carry meaning. Steel and metal symbolise strength, endurance and protection. In sculpture, these materials are often used to express monumentality. Here, I wanted them to reflect the quiet strength found within family relationships. The resilience built through time, the support we give one another, and the sense of belonging that holds families together.”

Placed at the heart of the lake park, the sculpture symbolises the idea that family sits at the centre of community life. Just as the sculpture gathers its form through perspective, the park draws families and neighbours together through shared experiences.

BUILDING A TOWNSHIP THAT FEELS LIKE HOME

According to Datuk Chai Kian Soon, Chief Operating Officer of IJM Land, the parks and recreational spaces reflect the developer’s vision of creating townships where nature, community and everyday living are thoughtfully connected.
