Dividend announcement by EPF in 24+ hours!? What’s the expected rate going to be?

Yes, I am as curious as all the EPF members who’s waiting to know how much dividend they will get. Guessing game will end on Saturday it seems. Today, many media outlets are reporting that the announcement will be this Saturday. Saturday is 28th February 2026. Yes, that’s like 24 hours away from the time this article is posted. According to sources, a dividend of between 6% and 6.2% will be likely for EPF’s conventional and shariah accounts.

Last year, EPF declared a 6.3% dividend for conventional and shariah accounts, the first time both savings received the same rate.

In previous years, the shariah rate had been lower. It is understood that the EPF board recently met to endorse the rates, which will be announced at a media briefing on Saturday.Article in freemalaysiatoday.com

My wish is simple lah

EPF should give me a return of an average of 5.5 to 6 percent every year for the next 11 years and I will be very happy indeed. I am a realistic person even if all the news thus far and all the predictions by experts say that EPF will announce a rate which is equal if not better than last year’s 6.3 percent. The reason is because their returns for the past 9 months had been very encouraging. So, unless the final 3 months show a sudden change, then it’s a certainty that it would be similar if not higher than 6.3 percent. What’s your wish? If it’s an average of 6 percent, I wish your wish will come true. Haha.
