Covid-19 vaccinations? Yes, they have started with evaluation for 5-11 year olds.

If it’s proven that it’s safe for young kids, I will definitely send my kids for the jabs. Yes, I am speaking about the Covid-19 vaccinations for young children. In this case, the ones between 5 – 11 years old. Both my kids are within this range. If they are not vaccinated and they have to return to school, I will always have that worry.

Without me around, who would be able to supervise all the kids to have social distancing or to wear their masks correctly? The teacher? With 30, 40 and 50 kids in the classroom? Erm… I struggle with just 2 kids. Let’s make it safer for them by having them vaccinated instead. It’s just like flu jabs where the efficacy is super high already.

Covid-19 vaccines can continue to improve until they are at the level of the flu jabs. At the moment, I will take it if the United States Food and Drug Administration says that it’s safe for 5 to 11 year olds.

Latest ICU cases in the country for your reference before we go into the article about vaccination for 5-11 year olds. Nationally, we seem to be doing better with every passing day. Now it’s below 70% when it was above 70% just a few days ago.

covid-19 vaccinations

Article in nst.com.my Pfizer and BioNTech said Tuesday they had begun submitting data to the United States Food and Drug Administration for the highly anticipated authorisation of their Covid-19 vaccine in children aged 5 to 11.

Children have been infected in greater numbers in the latest wave driven by the Delta variant, and inoculating this age group is seen as key to keeping schools open and helping end the pandemic.

The companies said in a statement, “These data have been shared with the FDA for the agency’s initial review.”

“A formal submission to request Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) of the companies’ Covid-19 vaccine in children 5 to under 12 years of age is expected to follow in the coming weeks,” they added, with submissions to the European Medicines Agency and others also planned. Waiting, Waiting, Waiting

My children are doing fine I think. They have been home like forever. I have just purchased a new Dell Inspiron notebook (with SSD) for my wife since my son is using her HP notebook (3rd year and super slow already) everyday for lessons and she has no access to the notebook to do her work. My daughter is using my Macbook Air which has already reached 8 years and still doing extremely fine. I am using a Business level Lenovo. Yea, in a family of 4 people, we have 4 notebooks.

So, now it’s just waiting for cases to come down to even more manageable level. Covid-19 vaccinations certainly helps too. With cases coming down, the ICU cases will also come down too. Soon, the hospitals could also start normalising everything too. Waiting, waiting and waiting.

Starting the evaluation meant that it is many months before before any vaccination can happen. Since we are in Malaysia and the vaccines are from the US, so it will be even more months after that before we would have the supply to do the same; vaccinating the 2-5 year olds. Covid-19 vaccinations will be like a never-ending story for sometime yet.
