Can you own 3 properties by 34 years old? This woman could!

For many years, every time anyone told me that their salary is not enough or that their employer underpaid them, I will ask them to think of ways to get a second income or to get another job which could pay them better. Most of the time, the answer is that they are too busy or that they could not find another job which could pay them higher plus doing the same work as what they do today.

None are willing to think of doing more so that they could earn even more but prefers to have the same role but paid higher. Now, there is another solution. Save, really really save a lot everyday. Just need 15 years and you could have three properties!

Article in todayonline.com Saki Tamogami, 39, is now known as Japan’s “Most Frugal Woman” after achieving her goal of buying three houses in less than 15 years.

Saki was just 19 when she decided that she wanted to own three houses by the age of 34.

In 2019, Saki appeared on a Japanese TV show, which documented her extremely frugal habits. She revealed she spends only 200 yen (S$1.80) a day on food, and cooks all of her meals at home, which mainly include toast, udon noodles, and discounted radishes.

On top of that, Saki also said she did not buy any extra tableware, instead only eating directly from her pot to save on the cost of dishwashing liquid and bowls.

Saki worked in real estate after graduating from university and saved the majority of her salary.

She was happy to see her savings grow and she lives by the motto: “Never buy anything without a discount”. Please read the full article here: Article in todayonline.com

Working to earn a good salary is a starting point

How much we could save also determines how much we earn. If we earn little, there’s not a lot to save. We learn from Saki that she worked in real estate after graduating (yes, a degree is essential) and she saved majority of her salary (if we save just 20 percent per month, it will be slower). So, are you ready to think about a journey in real estate world then? Majority are not successful in the real estate world yeah. Only the top 20 percent will earn 80 percent of all the income.

Staying focused would be the next key to success

She kept track of all her expenses. She does not need new clothes. She has second-hand electrical goods. She eats her meals, just that she chose not to spend like any usual working professional. All these require discipline and that ‘I will be successful one day and hit my target’ mindset. Saki has proven she could do it. 15 years to buy 3 properties is a very realistic and possible goal yeah.

I remember an ex-colleague who got her second property a few months after listening to my sharing one day. She also bring packed food to the office, she drives a typical local car, she does not have that flashy type of clothing and she’s a very good person. So, this is definitely doable. Happy thinking about how possible this is and make it possible!
