Wellness Starts at Home: TuJu Residences Redefines Urban Living

Press Release: Wellness Starts at Home: TuJu Residences Redefines Urban Living

In a city that never slows down, TuJu Wellness Weekend offered a gentle invitation to pause, breathe, and reflect on what it truly means to live well. Over two enriching days, the TuJu Sales Gallery was transformed into a peaceful sanctuary filled with movement, mindfulness, and heartfelt conversations. It became a place where health and home converged, and where the community found its voice through shared presence and intention.

Visitors explored wellness as a way of living that flows through daily choices and quiet rituals. From energising fitness sessions and inspiring talks to hands-on health screenings and personalised guidance from wellness professionals, every element was carefully curated to foster clarity, connection, and care. The programme echoed the heartbeat of TuJu Residences, a community shaped by purposeful design and everyday rituals that support balance, intention, and a more connected way of living.

“As developers, we have a responsibility to shape how people live, not just where they live,” said Monica Lai, Executive Director of Distinctive World Sdn Bhd. “Wellness should not feel like a luxury or a checklist. It should feel natural, part of the rhythm of daily life. That is what TuJu stands for. This weekend showed how architecture, lifestyle, and community support can come together in powerful ways.”

Among the highlights was a compelling talk by Dr Malar Santhi Santherasegapan, one of Malaysia’s most respected health educators. Her session, “Strength Over Sweat”, shared bold insights on why weight training should be embraced as a long-term health investment, especially for women.

“Wellness begins at home, in the way we care for ourselves every day,” said Dr Malar. “Strength training builds confidence, strengthens the body, and brings a sense of joy into our lives. When we make use of the spaces and amenities around us, it becomes easier to stay active, stay consistent, and build habits that truly support long-term wellbeing.”

In addition to expert-led sessions on stem cell rejuvenation, natural healing, and body recovery, the event featured complimentary wellness diagnostics such as epigenetic testing, eye health screenings, scalp analysis, and physiotherapy consultations. These experiences allowed visitors to learn more about their personal health while exploring the latest in wellness technology.

TuJu Residences was shaped with wellbeing in mind, where every space is designed to support daily life with balance, vitality, and connection. With a Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM750 million, the 4.52-acre development features 932 residential units and 38 retail outlets, designed to support modern, multigenerational living. Homes range from 710 to 1,442 square feet, offered in 10 versatile layouts, and priced from RM440,000. Flexible non-structural walls allow easy reconfiguration over time, with selected layouts thoughtfully designed to include senior-friendly features for enhanced peace of mind.

TuJu’s wellness promise extends far beyond gym equipment. Residents can enjoy over 50 health-inspired facilities, including a 50-metre infinity lap pool, wellness lounges, a yoga terrace, reading zones, basketball and badminton/pickleball courts, and a multipurpose hall suitable for fitness, therapy or community gatherings. Every feature is designed to nurture wellbeing, whether through movement, reflection, play, or rest.

“TuJu was imagined as a home that grows with you,” said Lim Ech Chan, CEO of Distinctive World Sdn Bhd. “It supports every stage of life, from new parents to ageing parents, and encourages residents to make wellness a part of daily life. This is how we redefine city living with care, adaptability, and presence.”

Aligned with the aspirations of the Kuala Lumpur City Plan 2040 (PTKL 2040), TuJu Residences is part of a broader movement to shape Segambut into a vibrant, wellness-focused corridor. With urban development shifting toward health-centric design, TuJu is paving the way as a model for future-ready homes that uplift both people and place.

The event was made possible through collaborations with trusted wellness brands including Lifewave, Nu Skin, Sunway MediSpa, Sun Rehab, Naturally Plus, B-Optique, and KARE, each contributing expertise and innovation to make the weekend experience both enriching and empowering. As Segambut continues its transformation, TuJu Residences stands as a beacon of what mindful urban living can look like, a place where community thrives, wellness is embedded in design, and life is lived with purpose.
