Scam news: Scammers prey on our fear!
I seriously hope that more people will understand and recognise all the potential scams. We need to make it much harder for the scammers to scam one of us. It’s our hard earned money and should not be lost to some scammer who does nothing but cheats us of our money. Another victim has been scammed and she took out a personal loan to pay to the scammer.
Before everyone conclude that scams happen only in Malaysia or that only Malaysians are foolish enough to be scammed, here are some latest scam news from the more advanced nations where the people should have a higher awareness?
Here’s a latest one in Singapore.

Here’s a latest one in Australia

Here’s one latest in UK

This is the reason why everyone no matter from whichever country should always be aware of all these ways which scammers are finding their next victim. One latest one in Malaysia is as follows and I think scammers are also preying on people’s fear and they are now very realistic and has one whole team versus just one person.
Article in malaymail.com A teacher lost RM135,150 after being deceived by a phone scam syndicate.
Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said initially the 25-year-old woman received a phone call from an individual claiming to be an officer from the Digital Communications Department, Network Blocking Division on July 2.
He said the victim was told that the phone number she was using had spread an invalid link in Perak.
“Then the phone call was connected to a suspect posing as a police officer who asked the victim to transfer money for the purpose of the investigation,” he said in a media statement today.
“The victim who was deceived took out a personal loan of RM128,000, in addition to using her savings to make 11 transactions to six different bank accounts resulting in losses amounting to RM135,150.” Please read here for the full article: Article in malaymail.com
A few important things we must always do
#1 – Stay calm and note that if it’s the police, chances are they will already come with an arrest warrant. it’s unlikely that they call you to scare you and then ask you to bank money to them for investigation. If they say they are from police, ask which branch. Ask for the person’s name. Find the number of that police branch ONLINE and call that branch to ask. Not ask the person to give a number and you call and then get cheated even more.
#2 – Always tell our friend(s) about the call. Some times we may not know that it’s a scam but as soon as we share with your friend, they may be able to point it out to us. Who knows they could be a reader of kopiandproperty.com and they have read all the potential ways that scammers are using these days to scam people.
#3 – IF WE DID NOT DO IT, then we did not do it, why must we feel scared? Someone telling me that I have done something illegal MUST send me the proof and truth is, if they want to charge me, then I am entitled to hire a lawyer too. Remember, we are innocent unless proven guilty in a court. This cannot be proven over the phone!
Hopefully, I will read lesser of these news.
