SARA is now available! Are you part of the 22 million Adult MyKad holders?

SARA for All available now

Have you used it thus far? SARA for All. Anyway, honestly, free money is always welcomed. I am of the opinion that any assistance must be as targeted as possible but again, if it’s given to all, I will gladly say thank you. As per news across all media, RM100 is now made available via MyKad (Yes, this is definitely the best way versus any other ways). Yes, if the family has 4 adults, they will receive RM400 in total. Just need to note that this is different from SARA Assistance. Read on for the news:

Article in malaymail.com. Under this expanded programme, more than 22 million adult MyKad holders are eligible to receive a one-off RM100 credit. The aid is valid for use until December 31, 2026.

“A key feature of the SARA for All initiative is its cumulative nature within a single household.

“Since the aid is tied to individual eligibility, families can receive “double” or multiple sets of assistance based on the number of qualifying adults in the home,” the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.

“For instance, a household comprising a husband, wife, and two children aged 18 and above will receive a total of RM400 in SARA credit. This is notably separate from the monthly SARA assistance for those who qualify under separate low-income criteria,” it added. Article in malaymail.com.

Yes, RM100 is not a lot of money but it’s an assistance

Sometimes, we see comments such as RM100 is not a lot of money or that inflation is so high these days, the amount should be higher. Let’s focus on what are the things we could buy perhaps? Perhaps items from these categories? Fill up our stomach first?

  1. Rice
  2. Eggs
  3. Cooking Oil
  4. Flour
  5. Bread
  6. Biscuits
  7. Canned Food
  8. Instant Noodles

Can buy everything I have listed below actually. Total for everything below is nearly RM100.

It is possible to stretch it a little if we look at the brands we buy

If our money is tight, it’s possible to stretch it a little if we did not buy the premium brands or the more popular brands which would usually carry a little premium to its pricing. I do not doubt that perhaps it’s higher quality or maybe it’s more delicious but everything will depend on the purpose of the purchase too. So, if the above looks like possible choices, can also look at other supermarket brands too. Maybe the prices could be even cheaper too. Happy using your SARA.
