RST Link. Latest Progress and Photos and my comments
I wonder when is my next JB trip
I know I will definitely be driving down to JB within this year (At the moment, should be in October) to feel the atmosphere and the vibrancy because I have not been to JB for around 1.5 years. Oh course, if some event organiser / property developer were to invite me to give a property talk, then it could be even earlier. If you have followed kopiandproperty.com for a while, you will know I am a supporter of the RTS and in fact this is one huge catalyst to the attractiveness of both JB and Singapore in attracting even more foreign investments.

About RTS Link
The RTS Link Project is a railway shuttle link approximately 4km length with two stations, one in Bukit Chagar, Johor Bahru, Malaysia and one in Woodlands, Singapore.
The link will be a modern Light Rail Transit (LRT) system that will provide high volume, fast and efficient transportation system between the two stations.
The link will be integrated with public transport systems at both stations, providing an alternative means of transportation that will help alleviate the congestion at immigration checkpoints for both countries.
The link will have a capacity of 10,000 passengers per hour, per direction and an expected ridership of about 40,000 passengers per day upon opening.

More expats and foreign professionals working and staying inside Singapore?
Please do not believe Singapore (island) can absorb another 500,000 new expats / professionals within the island of Singapore WITHOUT pushing up the property prices within the island even further and faster yeah. Here’s the latest news. Yes, prices are stillmoving up even if it’s slower dee.

I think there is a limit to how high buildings could be built plus if you are an expat / foreign professional working in Singapore, do you think the company would provide you with just a room as accommodation or do you think they would prefer to house you comfortably?
It’s comfortable to stay in just one room and paying S$1,000 (RM3,482) or more per month?
Here’s one for just S$600…

If the company does not provide you with accommodation and you are given an allowance to rent, do you want that allowance to be spent on a bigger and comfortable unit just 10 minutes away in JB (maybe up to 30 mins including transfers, walking etc) or just one little room within the island of Singapore?
Think logically and seriously. RTS Link is the key yeah. Happy staying in a proper place and have a place which is possible to have friends over and chit-chat until past midnight and no landlord who will give you some verbal warnings yeah.
