I do worry when it’s rainy season

These days, as I drive by roads next to hills, I always feel some fear. It’s very hard not to be when we see many landslide news whenever the rainy season comes. Even if I drive on the highway, I would slow down tremendously as the road could be slippery and I have no idea if there may be some uneven roads which has potential to cause my car to skid. If I slow down, this potential chance will be reduced.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail said they were informed at 7.26 pm about the landslide involving a 50-metre-wide area.

“The landslide damaged a Honda car parked in front of one of the houses but no casualties were reported,” he said in a statement.

Wan Md Razali said as a precaution, JBPM ordered occupants of the seven houses to be evacuated because soil movements were still detected there. — Bernama Article in malaymail.com

Just always be aware

If we stay near some hills, always watch if there are water movements which does not seem ordinary. If we could see some soil on the side of the road as a result of being washed down by the rain water, good to report to the local council. No idea if we should be reporting this to the fire department. Some times, that awareness may save lives.
