I have very little knowledge about photovoltaic panel

However, I do know that photovoltaic panels mean that the energy would come from the sun. I think if it rains all the time, this may not work. What I read online is that electricity produced by solar cells does not release any harmful air or water pollution into the environment. Usually, photovoltaic systems are quiet too. Perhaps another disadvantage is that photovoltaic systems would need huge space yeah. Lots of space.

Rawang is home to LONGi’s photovoltaic panel manufacturing plant

Article in malaymail.com World’s leading photovoltaic panel manufacturer LONGi Malaysia Sdn Bhd has today launched its 140-acres RM1.8 billion Serendah Module Plant.

Founded in 2000, Shanghai Stock Exchange listed LONGi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd as the world’s largest manufacturer of monocrystalline silicon wafers.

Following today’s launching, LONGi’s 140 acre of land at the UMW High Value Manufacturing Park is set to boast four production factories with a workforce of over 2000 locally employed Malaysians by March 2024. Article in malaymail.com

2,000 is a very good number

When we look at the interest for Electric Vehicles (EVs) these days, it does seem that the world is becoming more supportive of clean energy. I know, many would say that electric power does not necessarily mean it’s cleaner. However, this does not mean continuing to burn fossil oil is likely to be cleaner yeah. Just need to note that if indeed they are hiring 2,000 Malaysians, that’s good news for everyone.

Assuming everyone of these 2,000 Malaysians earning just RM2,000 per month, that’s a total salary of RM4,000,000 and assuming only 20% if spent in Rawang, then that’s already RM800,000 yeah. Now, with an economic multiplier effects of 4, then this is likely to benefit the local economy to the tune of RM3,200,000 yeah. May stalls, shops, businesses will benefit from this. Let’s hope everything goes according to plan yeah. Looking forward to more of these good news.
