Pets inside malls? Sorry, keep them at open area please.

Did you read the latest news about bringing pets into the mall?

What are your thoughts? Yes to this? No to this? Support this initiative to owners who love their pets too much and must bring them everywhere? Hate it very much and will not visit this mall allowing it in the future? Well, the below is the latest report about allowing owners to bring pets into the mall. This is based on the latest Selangor state directive.

One mall started this, the Sunway Square Mall. It’s here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/PpUevGrjJnPjEQno9

Article in malaymail.com. Sunway Square Mall has revised its pet policy with immediate effect, banning pets from enclosed indoor areas in line with a Selangor state directive.

The mall said the move followed a reaffirmation by Selangor Local Government and Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Ng Suee Lim that pets remain prohibited in shopping malls inside the state.

Sunway Square Mall said the restriction aims to ensure a safe, hygienic and comfortable environment for all visitors.

“Pets are only allowed at the designated outdoor pet- friendly park (Squarrel’s Playground) located at Sunway South Quay Lake.

“Pets may accompany their owners when transiting between the mall car park (B3 & B4) and the designated outdoor zone, with guidance from our security team,” it said in a statement today. Article in malaymail.com.

I love dogs. I am not a cat person. I am definitely NOT some lizard person. However, I do not need any of them in the mall

When I go to the mall, I want to do my shopping in peace. I do not wish at all to have any potential of stepping into some unwanted things such as poop. I cannot imagine the ‘Sxxt’ situation I am in if that should happen. Profanities would definitely follow. I also do NOT like if my kids are suddenly chased by any pet or scratched by any pet or scared by any pet. I am in a mall and I am not inside a zoo! I am also NOT in some gardens where many people bring their pets like dogs lah, cats lah and whatever small furry creatures out for a walk. Those are totally acceptable. Bring as many pets as you like since those are public space and it’s huge and not within some confined space etc.

However, please lah, do not bring pets into the mall. If we say we allow dogs for example, there are also small dogs, big dogs, noisy dogs and definitely crazy dogs. If we allow cats, then there are also cats which got scared because kids touched them and they scratch the kids, or cats that somehow escaped and now hanging precariously somewhere high and more. No need for all these extra lah. I am in the mall to do my shopping. Sorry if pet owners do not understand why malls were opened in the first place. It’s for shopping. Period.
