Penang Property Summit 2015. Not to be missed.

For Penangites, there is an event not to be missed this coming weekend. The Penang International Property Summit in conjunction with an international property exposition would be held in the Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition Centre (SPICE) from Jan 9 – 11. With a theme of ‘Managing Future Trends and Challenges;, the summit would be from Jan 9-10 while the exhibition is from Jan 9 – 11. Total crowd expected would be over 30,000 and this will be one of the largest event for 2015. The summit is a platform for all the stakeholders of Penang’s property industry to speak their mind. From the state government’s side, its Housing and Town and Country Planning committee chairman, Jagdeep Singh Deo would be attending and he has personally been involved in the event right from the conception stage.
Most of the time, everyone goes to a property exhibition, take leaflets and leave. This time, it’s a chance for everyone to really understand what’s the future direction of Penang’s property market, the challenges and issues that all the different stakeholders are facing. Personally I think it’s worth a visit as most of the time, we may hear a bit here and a bit there. Why not listen from everyone all at once. If you are really interested to be a long term property investor, get to know more. For the event, over 48 booths have been taken up and a whopping 120 participants confirmed including developers, auctioneers and banks. It has been a long time that I have seen such a huge property exhibition because in Penang, there are always the small fairs with 5-10 developers nearly every few weekends.
According to the Vice president of the International Real Estate Federation (Fiabci) Michael Geh, current period is going to be an active few months because many house-buyers are rushing to buy a property before the implementation of the Good and Services Tax (GST). For developers, this would be the best time for them to offer their best and for buyers, a great avenue to compare all the different types of properties from different price range. See you there.
