Opportunity to buy gold at a super heavy discount? Who is the seller?

If I am offered something at a heavy discount, I would ask why is the item on offer. Perhaps it’s the perfume, they always give big discounts when the expiration is 12 months away. Perhaps it is the leather shoe, they always give discounts because unless the shoe was super well taken care of, it has a lifespan and they better let it go before cracks happen. Perhaps it is last year’ car. You will get good discount if you buy a 2024 model in 2025. I mean there’s a REAL reason for something to be discounted.

Thus, if I am offered gold at a super heavy discount to the market, I would ask why. Truth is, if someone could offer to me gold at a super discounted price, don’t you think it’s better for them to sell to the major gold chain brands instead? Those brands would be able to buy a lot more than me. That someone should also be selling to their best friends and families first. Why need to tell the world about it… right? I really hope the following golf scam does not happen again. We must get all these scammers arrested!

Article in nst.com.my More than 100 people collectively lost over RM110 million to a scheme in which they were offered 916 gold at prices lower than the going market rates.

They had fallen for the scheme, orchestrated by a 37-year-old businesswoman, which has been going on for at least the past two months.

Most of the victims work at a public hospital unit in the Klang Valley, but they also include teachers in several states and are now being “hunted” for being middlemen who collected money to be invested in the scheme.

There is no free lunch?

I have no issues to pay for someone’s lunch if that person is struggling to pay for it. Many shops will also be willing to just allow someone to eat for free if they know this person is really struggling. However, no one would offer something expensive for a heavy discount unless there is a motive behind. Read more, know more and avoid being scammed because we were filled with greed and wants to suddenly become rich overnight. If those things happen all the time, there would be more rich people than poor people today. Hope this clears why someone would work hard, save their money and invest it for their long term wealth accumulation.
