MM2H: Comparisons between MM2H vs Sarawak MM2H and Sabah MM2H

If someone really wants to retire and just enjoy a pretty decent quality of life, I think Malaysia is a good choice. We are friendly, our food is super tasty (no need claim this and that like one country) and whether it’s nature or shopping or a relaxing small town visit every weekend, Malaysia has it all. Thus, MM2H or Sarawak MM2H or Sabah MM2H may be something worthwhile taking a more closer look since it seems that there are changes not too long ago.

Portugal as a choice versus Malaysia?

I read some articles comparing Malaysia to Portugal and says that if the we want to become an EU resident, then Portugal is the easiest route. Once someone has stayed in Portugal for 5 years, they could apply for Permanent Residency (PR). With a Portugal PR, one could travel to any EU country BUT you are not allowed to find work. Only citizens could work freely in any EU country. Source: make-it-in=germany.com

Then, maybe I suggest why not directly try for Permanent Residency status in Germany directly then? The reason is because you would also be able to become a PR in Germany after staying there for 5 years. Plus… there are a lot more job opportunities in Germany if we are to compare Portugal to Germany yeah. Info sourse: expatrio.com

This is why sometimes, the agent just tell you one side of the story. Plus the fact that maybe Portugal is more open to these agencies and support them more while Germany may not be as supportive even if the requirements are similar. Plus the fact is that the living costs in Germany is higher, so perhaps the easier to obtain Portugal PR is also very much related to the total ‘investments’ needed.

Major differences between the 3; Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah?

Sarawak MM2H and Sabah MM2H are more attractive than the MM2H because of the following reasons:

– Only need to stay in Sarawak / Sabah for 30 days versus 90 days for MM2H

– The visa period is 10 years versus the MM2H one which is starting from 5 years for Silver category

– Business activity is allowed for both Sarawak MM2H and Sabah MM2H while it is not allowed for MM2H except for the Platinum category

Beach… Sea… 20 minutes away…

Plus the fact that if you stay in Kuching, you get a city which will not have as many cars as Kuala Lumpur. Meanwhile if you stay in Kota Kinabalu, you get the South China Sea right next to the city! Example of an island just 20 minutes away by ferry from Kota Kinabalu. One could go every weekend even…
