Malaysia is a top destination for tourists. Means more demand for accommodation.

The more tourists, the better it is for property owners aiming at short term accomodation

Once upon a time, I have many friends doing AirBnB and was bragging about how much they could earn every month until… arrival of Covid and suddenly, everything stopped. Today, I just know that one is continuing. In fact, things may just start to get better too. According to some reports, Malaysia is a top tourist destination. Well, I have no idea who is WP Travel, but if it’s good news, let’s take it!

Article in thestar.com.my According to WP Travel, a website offering free web plugins for tour operators, travel booking and trekking agencies, Malaysia has advanced to claim the 14th spot for tourist top destination versus 15th last year. Malaysia welcoming 26.1 million tourists, a significant increase from the 20.14 million visitors in the previous year.

Based on Data Panda‘s findings, France topped the list with an impressive total of 89.4 million tourist arrivals. United States ranks third with 79.3 million visitors.

In South-East Asia, Thailand takes the 11th spot on the global list, attracting 39.8 million travellers and surpassing Malaysia, which currently holds the 2nd position in the region. Vietnam ranks 21st with 18 million tourist arrivals, followed by Indonesia and Singapore at 27th and 28th places, attracting 15.5 million and 15.1 million tourists, respectively. Malaysia is definitely the best country to visit in the whole world

Okay, it’s my own personal opinion but maybe my opinion carries some weight since I have travelled to 20 countries in the world. Plus I read a lot as well. Countries I have been to which I compared us against? England, Scotland, Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Monaco, China (+Hong Kong), Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, The Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Qatar and The Bahamas.

Anyway, it’s impossible that Malaysia is better than all of these countries in every areas. However, if you are a tourist, hey, Malaysia is definitely the top place you must visit. Weather is quite predictable, it’s hard to finish all the delicious food choices because Malaysia is a melting pot of race and culture, world class islands and diving sites, UNESCO World Heritage Status places including Melaka, Georgetown and Gunung Mulu National Park, never ending shopping (high end, unique, local gifts) and friendly people who could generally speak English and many other languages too. Accommodations are also on the low side in comparison to many other countries too. So, enjoy!
