Just SOME positive news for Malaysia #2
Thank you for reading the 1st one. It’s here if you like to read about it. I think Malaysians love good news as well and not just the many negative news which are always in the social media these days. They have to survive, so the more sensational the news, the better it would be for them. kopiandproperty.com does not subscribe to this yeah. I hope Malaysia continues to grow and I wish all the best for all of us, whether Malaysians or readers of kopiandproperty.com
Stronger ringgit versus USD could be happening
“Malaysia could attract renewed capital inflows into its bond and equity markets, underpinned by a stronger ringgit and a possible shift in US monetary policy.”

Comment: Malaysia is a trading nation. A stronger ringgit does not necessarily mean we will can export more. However, I genuinely believe our ringgit is undervalued because despite having so much trade surplus, ringgit is still seen as weaker than some economies with a lower surplus or even deficits and also a weaker economy. Thus far, our GDP is moving up and we are certainly the rising star in Asean. We are ‘affordable’ enough and we have the infrastructure and the people component that makes us an attractive investment destination. This was also seen in the latest global competitiveness index where Malaysia has risen tremendously. A stronger ringgit will make traveling overseas cheaper… 🙂
A lot more jobs and unemployment has fallen to below pre-pandemic levels!
“In its Annual Labour Force Statistics, Malaysia 2024 report released today, DOSM noted that the nation’s job market continued its post-pandemic recovery last year, with the unemployment rate falling to 3.2 per cent – lower than the pre-pandemic level of 3.3 per cent recorded in 2019.”

Comment: A friend told me that Malaysian employers are not paying as high as employers in other countries. They should pay higher. I told him that if we are unable to get a job which can pay us higher despite claiming being underpaid, what does that really mean? Underpaid or perhaps under qualified for a higher pay? Let me be serious here. When supply is low, prices will move upwards. Great talents with good attitude, right skills will definitely get the better job and higher pay. When we can only complain and could not do anything about it, it may not be an employer issue…
Tourists are flocking to Malaysia and they are spending!

Comment: What tourism does is a lot. When they fly in, they are definitely using an airline which is operating in Malaysia. Money to the employees. When they arrive, they will use the taxis (GRAB too) and these are all locals. Again, money to the drivers. When they stay at hotels or homestay or whatever accommodation, they will pay the owners or the the business and this is money to the local economy. They will then eat great food (second to none), they will visit sights, they will buy souvenirs and they will even be bringing along their family and friends… so all the above are multiplied. This is why tourism rising is a great news.
That’s it for today. Another 3 good news which I have shared. If you have any great news about Malaysia, please do share with me. We can counter the negative vibes with lots of positive ones. Thank you for making Malaysia an amazing place. Cheers.
