I get 300 litres of RON95 petrol at less than RM2 per litre. What about you?

For all Malaysians (eligible ones)

It was announced sometime back that petrol subsidy would be targeted to Malaysians who truly needed the subsidy and it’s not for all Malaysians. Reason being some Malaysians are already super wealthy. Now, I think many would say it’s fair since now every Malaysian (eligible citizens) will get to pump petrol at RM1.99 per litre and it’s up to 300 litres per month too.

Over 4,000km is possible (if Perodua Axia, then even higher)

Do you know how many km can 300 litres travel in a typical car? If it’s an old manual Proton Persona 1.6 like mine, it’s 7.2l / 100km or 13.9km every 1 litre. In other words, with 300 litres of fuel, my Proton Persona could travel roughly 4,170km per month. This meant I can go back to Ipoh every weekend and still have only used less than half of the allocation. We have a generous government. Just be thankful and grateful since this is already the decision. It’s announced and has been reported in all major media too.

Article in theedgemalaysia.com The Malaysian government will provide up to 300 litres of RON95 petrol per month at RM1.99 per litre to all eligible citizens beginning on Sept 30, 2025.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that eligible Malaysian citizens aged 16 and above can buy RON95 petrol at subsidised rate by simply using their MyKad for verification at the pump, counter, or through station apps under the new Budi95 targeted subsidy programme.

“All citizens, regardless of income level, who hold a valid driving licence, will automatically enjoy the benefits of Budi95. This is a privilege exclusively for Malaysians,” Anwar said in his official statement on Monday.

As the 300-litre monthly cap is designed for personal use, drivers for ride-hailing services are exempted from the limit and may apply for additional allocations to sustain their operations. Non-citizens will not be eligible and will pay the market price, which the government estimates at around RM2.60 per litre. Article in theedgemalaysia.com

Petrol price in Malaysia is very low (even versus countries all over ASEAN)

Just enjoy, as long as government says it could afford, then we can continue to pump and enjoy. Hopefully all these people from other countries where their currency is said to be much stronger than ringgit will not come and somehow could also enjoy this privilege. Remember to also punish people who somehow help them to enjoy our subsidized petrol. Come on, earn much higher currency, surely can afford the petrol in own country easily. No need come here and show how poor you are, actually. We do welcome you to come here and eat good food yeah.
