Higher salary means more money for spending!

Civil servants will receive double digits adjustments in salary. This has been long announced but now we have the actual number. It’s positive definitely. More money means more spending. More spending means more growth. Just need to remind everyone that the civil service is the backbone of any nation. Thus, please do better and keep improving year after year. I also personally believe that the people with a lower salary should receive a higher percentage and not the same percentage too. We have too many examples of CEOs giving themselves amazing salary and then they fire the lower paying employees when the company is not performing well. Ahem….?

Article in themalaysianreserve.com. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (picture) today announced a 15 per cent salary adjustment to civil servants in the Implementing, Management and Professional groups, and seven per cent for those in the Top Management group.

“The salary adjustment will be implemented in phases, starting from Dec 1, 2024, for Phase 1, and from Jan 1, 2026, for Phase 2,” he said when addressing the civil servants at the 19th edition of Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MPPA XIX) 2024 programme here today.

Anwar said the salary adjustment for the Implementing, Management and Professional groups will be eight per cent in Phase 1 and seven per cent in Phase 2, while for the Top Management is four per cent in Phase 1 and three per cent in Phase 2. My parents and my aunt were in civil service too

My late father was a head of department for language in the Teacher’s Training Institute, my mother a headmaster and my aunty a head of department for the chemistry department. I can see they work very hard and very dedicated. I am very sure they deserve the increments. At the same time, I have also seen many ‘never mind aka tidak apa’ attitude where we, the people deserve a better service too. Let’s always keep moving forward and make it even better. Give increments is a yes but demand for better service is critical. Happy enjoying the salary increments!
