Fly from Subang to Jakarta for RM299 (one way ticket…) via TransNusa

Fly from Subang to Jakarta for RM299 (one way ticket…) via TransNusa.

My first thought was… is RM299 for one way flight ticket very cheap?

Answer is, no. Perhaps the only consolation is that it’s Subang which meant that for some people, it’s much closer than to touch down in KLIA and then needing another hour to travel to the city centre. Or just use the train and arrive in slightly over 30 minutes. Well, if you stop in Subang (Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport) and you need a GRAB to the KL city centre, it should take around half an hour. So, one is saving around 30 minutes by using the Jakarta to Subang flight versus Jakarta to KLIA route.

What’s the typical flight ticket price like then?

One choice could be AirAsia for RM326 for a return flight. Another choice would be Batik Air for RM418 return. Instead of no-frills flight, we can also take the national airline of Netherlands too. Take KLM for just RM477 return flight. We could also support Malaysia Airlines too which I would usually take simply because I like their service and the words of “Selamat Pulang” announcement at the end of the flight.

I am waiting for more flight destinations then and hopefully better prices too

I am not too sure if many Malaysias travel to Jakarta if compared to other places such as Bangkok or Sinfapore. TransNusa is the first foreign airline to operate from Subang to Jakarta and there are rumours that Singapore’s budget air, Scoot from Singapore would be the next to announce their flights too. Of course if it’s Scoot, we would have the Subang – Singapore flight yeah. Let’s see if they offer some amazing rates to start the ball rolling. Here’s that article about TransNusa and Scoot. My first flight in my life was in Subang Airport

That airport then and the airport today is very different yeah. Do you know how it looks like today? Modern an contemporary actually. Parking is also easy, just right across the street and you just walk across via the overhead bridge into the terminal building directly.

Happy deciding since now there’s another airport serving some regional destinations.
