Do you love lounge access when you travel?

I believe if we travel via business class (which costs a lot more than economy), we may also have complementary lounge access and that lounge may even be very luxurious one depending on what’s the airline we are taking. I heard Cathay’s lounge is very amazing from my Hong Kong friend. I do not have the privilege to try thus far. So, if you are already traveling via Business Class flights today, I think you can skip this article. Congratulations on your achievements!

For those who fly economy but still want lounge access

However, for many of us, if you are flying whether within Malaysia or overseas and you wish to have a nice and comfortable sofa chair to sit while sipping on a cup of flat white or take a shower and change into comfortable clothes before that long flight or even feeling hungry and wanted to eat some hot food, then access to a lounge in the airport would be what you need.

I only have three credit cards (was just 2 cards until few months ago)

I have three credit cards which provide me lounge access when I travel. One gives me Unlimited Access to both the KLIA and KLIA2 Premium Plaza Lounges. Limited number of lounges but unlimited. Definitely a clever marketing strategy if you ask me and people will always carry this card even when they have other cards giving them access to lounges other than this one.

Another provides me 8x access every year without any limitations on when I could use them as long as it’s within one year. My wife who’s a supplementary card holder gets the same 8x and she does not share my 8x access. For example, in Singapore, this card allows me access to 7 lounges across all the 4 terminals so that I do not need to go to other terminals just to enjoy the facility.

The last one gives me 8x in 17 airports and in KLIA’s Premium Lounge, they have their own special lounge area within the lounge too. This is a recent card I got and the main reason I got it was because the bank gave me two complimentary Pierre Cardin luggages. I have just started using these two luggages in my travel to Los Angeles 2 weeks ago.

These are the three I have currently

First one is Standard Chartered Journey credit card (I think I have had this card for 10 years?), second one is CIMB Preferred Visa Infinite Card (Perhaps I have this for the past 15 years?) and the last one is UOB PRVI Miles Elite Card (just a few months). Do you also have these cards as well? There are no links within this article to sign up for them yeah. If you like, do search for their website online and go and sign up. However here are the financial requirements to sign up for them:

Standard Chartered Journey card requires a minimum income requirement of RM90,000 per year. This card also have the Complimentary ride home via GRAB if you fulfill these requirements: “Enjoy cashback on transfers from any airport in Malaysia via Grab when you spend a minimum of RM2,500 on Travel2 (capped at RM65)”

CIMB Preferred Visa Infinite is for CIMB Preferred customers only. However, you may apply for the CIMB Visa Infinite Card and the income requirement is just RM60,000 per year which was lowered from RM120,000 previously some time this year. So, now it’s easier to apply for this card. This card covers even the Sky Lounge Access in Sultan Abdul Aziz airport too.

UOB PRVI Miles Elite Card requires a minimum income requirement of RM100,000 per year. Another advantage this card has is that it provides Complimentary ride home from KLIA1 (min. 3 retail overseas transactions per month).

Share with me other credit cards which has amazing benefits please

I am very sure some other credit cards could give great benefits and privileges too. perhaps even better than the above. f you share with me, I could replace one of my card with it perhaps. Thank you in advance.

My most recent trip was yesterday morning. Plaza Premium Lounge in Changi International Airport. I was super hungry then because Singapore Airlines gave me a breakfast meal roughly 4 hours before landing. Oops. Haha. I was traveling back from Los Angeles and it was a 16 hours flight.

This Hainanese chicken rice is nice. 🙂
The tuna inside this croissant is by me and I ate two of these…

How much do you think I would have to pay for two croissants with tuna and all the others including the Hainanese chicken rice and a cup of hot flat white in an international airport? Yea, quite a lot of money really. With your credit card access, it’s complimentary. Happy applying for this privilege too.
