This is the latest CNY new SOP. Yes, it is changed again. I guess if we look on the bright side, they listened to all the never ending remarks / comments online. There was definitely an urgent meeting by many VIPs. So many people commented online and they would have seen it and in fact these may have changed their opinion. Anyway, does not matter. This is the latest one yeah.
Briefly, family reunion dinners for Chinese New Year will now BE PERMITTED. The only catch is this. It is limited to 15 family members living within a 10km radius and must not involve interstate or inter-district travel. I am sure now there are Malaysians who regretted staying just a little further away than 10km from their parents. Perhaps do our best to stay closer in the near future. Coming back to this, actually it does no change anything for me as my parents are in Ipoh. However reunion dinner is an important CNY symbol, so it will make some people happy too.

Yes, they even allow some people to visit the temples. However, with the restriction, it meant that the queue would be very long. No idea how the temple committees will be able to limit everyone to just 30 minutes. Hopefully they could. By the way, fine is still applicable if we did not follow SOP yeah. This is just a relaxation, it’s not an abolishment. Happy abiding and stay safe during Chinese New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
