Understanding Salary Trends: 2026 Expectations

If a country has full employment, it could mean that it’s harder to find employees, thus maybe the salary offer could be higher? Maybe the offer and the increment can be a different thing. Without esports, I don’t think I’d have much hope for my future.

My daughter and son are both into online games. They play 2 hours a day because their mother aka my wife does not allow them to play indiscriminately. Perhaps I should show her this article about teenagers winning RM1.24 million in esports? I know her reply. “How many out of all the hundreds or thousands or even tens of thousands who are playing are able to achieve this level?”

My property price could be higher but the value of money is lower. Noted. So?

Yes, inflation should be a worry for all of us. It does not stop even in the BEST governed countries of the world. In the property investment world, many people are saying that a fully paid RM500,000 priced property bought today will actually give the owner a lot less in actual purchasing power from the property, even if the price at the end of 30 years have risen to RM1,000,000. Plus the fact that many personal finance experts (who owns no property) are also saying the same.

Higher salary for better livelihood or lifestyle?

Livelihood may mean buying wholemeal loaf of bread (not white yeah) and having it for 3-4 mornings as breakfast. Bringing it to office, eating it with the free coffee provided in the office. Maybe buying a tray of eggs and include a boiled egg with the bread every morning. Cost effective and yet nutritious and certainly can ensure the person reduce the expenses for food.

What’s the possibility for EPF to pay higher dividend than last year?

Do take a look at the history for EPF dividend performance over the past 10 years. I would say typically the number is below 6 percent. However, even at 5.5 percent, this is already more than 50 percent or more versus Fixed Deposit rates. In 2024, the declared dividend was 6.3 percent. Looking at the performance for the first 9 months of 2025 as well as the current positive momentum, it seems that the 6.3 percent which was spectacular last year will be eclipsed this year. One report says that it could be as high as 6.5 percent!

How to Cut Petrol Costs During Your Melbourne Trip

I wanted to drive to some places during the weekends, so I rented a car. Take a look at my MG3. Brief review? Fuel consumption is on the low side, it sips and not gulps. Driving wise, erm… do not drive too fast. Power wise, erm… climbing hills not its specialty. On a straight flat line, pick up is good. Size wise, pretty good for a small car and it looks bigger when it’s right beside a Polo or a Mazda 2 for example which are supposed to be same class. My Melbourne friend told me that this is presently the cheapest car an Australian could buy. The price is even cheaper than used car of similar size but the typical Japanese, Korean or American brands! Haha.

Houses vs Units: Which Will Make You a Millionaire?

I arrived in Melbourne last Sunday and will be in Melbourne for around 10 days. I met my friend who shared with me that she was staying in a townhouse and she explained that a townhouse meant that the owner of a big piece of land decided to sub-divide the land and build units within the same land. Her home is one out of 16 other units within the same piece of huge land. In other words, this particular house on one piece of land was demolished and 16 units of townhouses are now on the same piece of land. Do read a brief explanation below:
