Kuala Lumpur to Narita via ZIPAIR (LCC from Japan!)

Have you ever heard of ZIPAIR?

It’s my first time reading about this airline. It’s a Low Cost Carrier (LCC). However, it’s from Japan. Its parent is Japan Airlines. So, yeah, I can trust that the airline will be properly maintained. It has started the Kuala Lumpur – Tokyo (Narita) flights. Nope, I have not travelled by ZIPAIR before. I have booked my year end flight which I have no choice because I have to follow the school holiday. Maybe next year’s school holiday trip, I can try ZIPAIR. Take a look at their top banner in their website. https://flights.zipair.net/en-us/kuala-lumpur

Is it cheap? Well, yes. Pretty cheap if you ask me.

The below shows some of their fares. So, what did I do? Of course, I clicked in to try and see what’s the final price for a return flight lah. Take a look at the below as well for their flight priced in RM. Looks affordable yeah?

Flight fare options from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Tokyo (NRT), displaying prices and departure dates.
Flight fare advertisement from Kuala Lumpur to Narita, showing a one-way standard fare of 1,094 MYR, including all taxes and charges.

So, I tried a return flight search and got the following total.

KL to Narita on 23rd October and returning on 30th October 2026. Total is USD450 (RM1,837) for an economy seat. Is this truly affordable? Well, the price looks pretty good when we compare to even other LCCs.

Some comparison with other LCCs?

For same return flight via Scoot?

Holiday via LCC and direct flight?

Actually, the only real comparison is Batik Air yeah coz it’s also direct flight. The other airlines have stops at their home country and this meant that the travel time is way longer. So, the time for us in Tokyo will be shorter yeah. So, in this regard, ZIPAIR is indeed a great choice indeed versus all other LCCs. I have no idea if this is their introductory fare but if one is thinking of dropping by Tokyo for a one week holiday, this is worth considering.
