Kuala Lumpur, 20 August 2025 – PropertyGuru Malaysia, the country’s leading property marketplace, launches the PropertyGuru Verified Badge. The new feature provides an additional layer of assurance for property seekers by helping them quickly identify agents whose identity and professional credentials have been verified through PropertyGuru’s enhanced process.
According to the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers (LPPEH), unlicensed individuals defrauded more than 1,500 victims, resulting in nearly RM60 million in losses between 2019 and 2023. Additionally, many Malaysians still lack clarity on how to verify a real estate professional’s credentials. The Verified Badge addresses this gap by making it easier for consumers to identify credible, licensed real estate professionals directly on the PropertyGuru platform.
The PropertyGuru Verified Badge is awarded to registered Real Estate Negotiators (REN), Real Estate Agents (REA), and Probationary Estate Agents (PEA) with active licenses via LPPEH who complete PropertyGuru’s secure verification process. This process involves confirming the agent’s identity through eKYC, validating their professional licence details, verifying their registered contact information, and acknowledging the Verified Badge terms. Once completed, the PropertyGuru Verified Badge will appear on the agent or negotiator’s profile, listings, and search results, making it easier for property seekers to engage with legitimate professionals.

The Verified Badge initiative is launched in attendance of key stakeholders including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) and Institute of Malaysian Property Agents & Consultants (IMPAC).
