New Chinese primary schools? Definitely a plus.

A good friend moved from her previous home (not so awesome area) to her current home in Sri Damansara about 1.5 years ago. She wanted to ensure that her kids get to enroll in the nearby Chinese primary school which is just 1km away. Registrations are always based on distance of home to school. The closer the home is to the school, the higher the chance that the application for that particular school would be successful. There are many such cases and in fact, education is a very important subject for all parents. There are more reasons to rejoice for parents with kids who prefers to enroll their kids into a Chinese primary school. Another 16 new schools would now be available and many of them in newer areas too. Here’s the article in TheStar and below are the full list of all the schools whether totally new or relocated.

6. SJK (C) Sunsuria, Bdr Sunsuria, Sepang, Selangor
7. SJK (C) Tun Ong Yoke Lin, Gamuda Cove, Kuala Langat, Selangor
8. SJK (C) Tun Lim Chong Eu, Eco Grandeur, Puncak Alam, Selangor

The six schools to be relocated are:

1. SJK (C) Poay Chai, Singkir, Kedah to Tmn Bkt Indah, Johor
2. SJK (C) Poi Min, Gopeng, Perak to Puchong Perdana, Puchong
3. SJK (C) Aik Hua, Taiping, Perak to Kota Seriemas, Negri Sembilan
4. SJK (C) Ladang Regent, Gemencheh, Negri Sembilan to Bandar Elmina, Selangor (new name to be revealed)
5. SJK (C) Panching, Kuantan, Pahang to Kota SAS, Pahang
6. SJK (C) Ladang Grisek, Bkt Gambir, Ledang, Johor to Tmn Kota Masai (new name to be announced)

Relocation happens when the existing school has no students so that it can be built in a new area and more students get to enroll and benefit from having to work hard everyday in school. I am not from a Chinese school but I think I worked hard enough too in school. 😛  As for my kids, I have no yet decided. As you can see, many of the schools are located within a certain development. Many times, the developers would provide a lot of funds for these schools because it is a huge advantage and based on the demographics of the current Malaysian population, this is the time when kids need to be enrolled in new primary schools. I would think of this as a win-win situation for all stakeholders. Perhaps this is one way to relocate people from some mature neighborhoods. By the way, there are also many very good national schools in Malaysia and they are usually better equipped too. However, 6 years in a primary Chinese school is n advantage for future and I have to agree to this too. The full article in TheStar here. Happy buying and relocating.
