ETS Johor Bahru – Kuala Lumpur starts tomorrow!

ETS Johor Bahru – Kuala Lumpur starts tomorrow!

Suddenly I feel like wanting to try this ETS

So many media is reporting this today. So, I went online and I checked and I realized that KL to JB route is more popular currently. Take a look below. JB to KL still have lots of tickets while KL to JB is sold out… So, if I intend to go, I need to plan ahead, buy the tickets well in advance to secure them too. Price is pretty okay too. RM99 one way or less than RM200 return. Please do not say if I drive it’s cheaper for a family of 4. Sure, go and drive yeah. Different thing lah.

Article in thestar.com.my There will be more trains plying the Electric Train Service 3 (ETS 3) Johor Baru-Kuala Lumpur route starting January 2026, says Anthony Loke.

The Transport Minister said until the end of 2025, there two trips daily from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Baru each and the frequency will rise to four trips daily.

“For the next two or three weeks, there are only two trips from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Baru each day, one in the morning and one in the evening.

“In January, we will increase it to four trips, with further increases in following months,” he said at a press conference after the launch of the Gemas-Johor Baru Electrified Double-Tracking Project (EDTP) at Kempas Baru station on Thursday (Dec 11). Article in thestar.com.my

ETS experience has always been positive

It’s fast enough, faster than if I drive following speed limit. It’s stable enough, way more stable than if I drive a car and running at 110km per hour as I have to hold the steering while in the ETS, I can walk here, walk there, look out the window without fear of looking on the road. Seats are big and comfortable. It’s quiet and not like the trains of the past where noise pollution is one of the by-products too. Thus far, it’s usually on time and choices are also aplenty too. The only issue is that we would need to buy well in advance as seats are taken up very quickly including the soon-to-be-launched KL to JB or JB to KL ETS route. Happy enjoying your first trip. If I do go, I will write about the experience too.
