The reason is simple, if we are working, we save 11 percent of our pay while our employer will put in 12 percent. In other words, at minimum, we have a total of 23 percent of the salary being saved every month for 35 years. Just the savings alone?

Our EPF savings are now distributed into three accounts. The monthly contribution of members would be channelled to Accounts 1, 2 and 3 in the proportion of 75%, 15% and 10% respectively. Foreign funds may buy. They may push up the prices to the typical higher price earnings ratio. Is this the correct thing to do? Please do remember that they have more funds to hold should things did not go as planned. They could also sell immediately if they found things not to their expectations which could drive prices down suddenly. This is why when we buy these companies, it is more important to understand the business which they do. Read their annual reports at least, maybe?
