100,000 visitors to Langkawi within a few days? Really so many people like Langkawi?
Someone told me that there’s nothing to do in Langkawi. I asked what do you wish to do? He said there should be more vibrancy. I said I don’t understand. He says more restaurants serving good food. I asked if there are too few restaurants? He said, no but need more. He said there has to be more quality accommodation. I pointed out the few big names and he said but those are too expensive. He said there has to be more attractions in Langkawi.
I pointed out that there are already a lot but what does he expect? He just said, there has to be more. For example, ‘diving!’ I rest my case yeah. There are so many places one could do diving here in Malaysia. Why must it specifically be Langkawi? However, I still answered him, ‘perhaps snorkeling can also consider Pulau Payar?’ He reminded me diving and snorkeling is different. I laughed and said that my comment remains the same, why must it be diving in Langkawi? Well, somehow a lot of people also like Langkawi like me.
Article in nst.com.my More than 100,000 visitors have landed on the tourist island here in the past five days despite the stormy weather.
This surge in numbers coincided with the beginning of the school holidays and the long weekend due to Malaysia Day and Maulidur Rasul.
From the total, 67,694 visitors came to the island via ferry; 20,008 visitors arrived by flight and the remaining 13,747 came with their vehicles on roll-on/roll-off (Ro/Ro) vessels.
“Based on the data, a total of 11,645 passengers entered the island on Friday, followed by 12,618 visitors on Saturday, 13,986 visitors on Sunday, 15,987 on Monday and 13,458 passengers yesterday. Please do read the article in full here: Article in nst.com.my
Fly in, stay in some nice hotel, eat good food and just shop, then repeat
These are the things I have been doing, will still be doing and will also encourage everyone to just do the same. By the way, the flight ticket to overseas which you saved can easily help you to enjoy a 4 day 3 nights holiday in Langkawi yeah. Food is expensive simply meant that you only prefer the more expensive ones yeah. There are so many good choices all over Kuah Town for example.
Plus, chocolates are really cheaper there and this is not like buying from KLIA yeah. Those remain more expensive from my personal comparisons thus far. If one did not manage to bring enough luggages, then just buy one! The price for one is also very competitive. Just do not need to look at the brand yeah. Look at the price versus the quality and buy…
Happy visiting.
