Property Investment News: All latest news on renting

I know many say renting a home is the way of the future

Whenever someone tells me this statement, I tend to agree. Why not? If majority prefers to rent, we should encourage them to rent by buying a property and let them rent yeah. If no one is buying at all, then who would they rent from yeah. Developers as far as I know do not build new properties in order to rent them out. They build, they sell and they move on to the next project.

Meanwhile, there are some government schemes but these are way too few to cater to the demand if majority if everyone intends to rent. Plus the fact that government cannot be building new properties just to rent them out yeah. The cost is just too high and the maintenance is also impossible to cover because if this is what the government intends to so, then the rental rate has to be affordable yeah.

Here are some latest headlines about rental.

Some are very interesting as they say they can pay less when they choose to live in a hotel intstead of renting a home. Just need to note that there are limitations yeah. Some are being forced to move further away from the city centre because rents are increasing and thus, they have to rent further and smaller in order to keep rental affordable.

Meanwhile some are enlightening as they reveal that unaffordable rents may also lead to premature deaths. By the way, if the rent becomes unaffordable, the person would be constantly under pressure because they know that a lot of their salary has to be given to rental and any unforeseen expenses will make it even more unaffordable.

Some may serve as a warning too. It seems that rental in the UK are rising at its fastest rate. Let’s hope their government can do something about it or the people will suffer because it is highly unlikely for landlords to voluntarily reduce their rental when everyone in the neighbourhood are renting at a similar monthly rental.

My advice is just one. Earn enough and we could choose to rent as long as we want

When rental in one development starts to rise for one or two renters, very quickly, all the other landlords within the same development would also follow when their tenancy agreement comes up for renewal. Of course, if there’s a high supply versus demand, then the rental would also move downwards too. This is what’s happening to some condo units these days. However, let me share a little secret here.

As a landlord, I treat my tenants very professionally.

However, if my tenant is rude or arrogant or say things I don’t like to hear, then I will increase the rental and if they are unwilling to pay, they are free to leave. This is why negotiations on rental should be on a cordial manner. I have no issues to rent to the next tenant the same rental as the market or even lower than the market just to make my point clear. I own the home and tenants are just renting it from me. Meanwhile the tenant would just have to find another place, move and hopefully that landlord is a desperate one who will agree to everything the tenant says.

Happy keeping up to date.
