Another positive development for MRT 3 Circle Line.

I love all MRT Lines. I have been one the MRT Sungai Buloh Line many times and I hope to take the MRT Putrajaya Line as soon as it opens. Does not need to determine where I want to go. Just take it, stop somewhere, enjoy a teh tarik and then go home. Haha.

I personally think MRT 3 Circle Line is important because it will complete the MRT 1 and the MRT 2. Did you know about this news just a week ago? MRT Line 3 will complete MRT Sungai Buloh line and Putrajaya line. The positive news about MRT Line 3 is now enhanced by another positive news.

Let’s keep ourselves updated and hopefully all will be going ahead without any further changes. By the way, this will not just take 1 or 2 years or even the typical 3 years for a residential property yeah. This will take up to 10 years. Read on to understand more.

Article in themalaysianreserve.com Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) CEO Datuk Mohd Zarif Hashim said that MRTCorp had had submitted a request for information (RFI) to industry players to enable them to be ready as the tender process this time is different than before.

He said, “We want to emphasise on construction manufacturing methods such as the use of industrial building systems (IBS) and informed building models (BIM) in the project.

“This means, participants need to be proficient with these two methods to enable them to participate in the tender process which will begin in August.”

According to Mohd Zarif, the MRT3 project is expected to take ten years to complete, compared to the previous projection of seven years. He also shared that that overall distance of the rail line is 50 km of which 40 percent will be underground. Do refer to the full article here with more information. Why do we need MRT Lines?

MRT lines are catalysts because it connects. With more connections, there would be more interactions and interactions are needed for more integrations. Needless to say, all these bring economic activities and multiplier effects too. If they say the future belongs to Electric Vehicles and not petrol cars, then I wish to remind you that the future of transportation for majority would be via public transport.

Future is EV? No… future is public transport.

Remember, parking just 22 days (working days) every month in the city centre may now be RM220. In the future, it may be RM500. Better just spend a fraction of that on transport versus petrol / electric charging and parking fees too. Just look at the advanced countries and we should realise that when property prices move upwards, the car park rental would also be going up or else that car park will be turned into another property development. When there are even fewer car parks, wondering what will happen to parking rates? Happy anticipating.
