Up to RM1.2 billion investment into Pahang. Interesting ventures.

Think of Pahang and what comes into your mind? Lynas? Hmm… Club-Med Cherating? Lots of fun! Or one new projects by the sea overlooking the South China Sea? Relaxing… Kuantan industrial parks? Yes, it’s not a white elephant. Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Park? Oh, I want to go. The East Coast Rail Line (ECRL)? Continuing… Beyond these, here is another thing that Pahang will also be associated with. It’s a Global Tropical Seeds Research Park as well as a Green Resource Manufacturing Eco-Park too.

Article in edgeprop.my here. Four Thai companies will be investing RM1.2 billion into Pahang. The investment includes a development of a Global Tropical Seeds Research Park worth RM400 million in Gambang, Kuantan and a Green Resource Manufacturing Eco-Park worth RM380 million in Bentong. The Global Tropical Seeds Research Park will span an area of 1,280 acres in Kampung Sungai Pohoi, Gambang.

AE Carbon Capital (Bentong) and Pahang State Development Corporation (PKNP) will be developing an industrial eco-park anchored in 5th Generation fully Integrated Green Resource Manufacturing of multiple green-tech products for local and export markets. There were also two MOUs worth RM433 million signed too. Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said, “We are also studying on the most possible location in Kuantan to establish a Pahang Aerospace Park and this will be quite similar to the existing Automotive Park that we have in Pekan.” Article in edgeprop.my here.

Any good investments with job opportunities and the prospects of exporting what is produced here to the world out there is always welcomed, in my opinion. If it’s something which we have advantage, like the need for a rain forest so that research could be done for example, then it’s even better. I think we have enough of all the same stuffs like a beach resort or a theme park already. Plus, when there are theme parks nearer to the city versus a theme park further away from the city, guess which one will be visited more often? To all potential investors, I welcome you too. If you send me your press release, I will be glad to tell the world about it too.
