Seibu introduces its first Experiential Retail Store in Malaysia at The Exchange TRX
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 20 November 2019: The Exchange TRX and Seibu Kuala Lumpur recently announced its partnership and unveiled the first of its kind Seibu concept store at The Exchange TRX – the 17-acre lifestyle centerpiece of the Tun Razak Exchange development; Lendlease’s largest urban regeneration project in Asia. This landmark experiential lifestyle destination will seamlessly bring to life Seibu’s vision of experiential and luxury retail.
Seibu at The Exchange TRX, which spans over more than 250,000 square feet of retail space over 4 levels will offer unparalleled luxury, exceptional selection of luxury fashion and accessories brands, lifestyle and fun offerings as well as a feast of culinary delights through the first ‘depachika’ in Malaysia; a distinctly Japanese food hall concept.
Most importantly, Seibu prides itself with the famous Japanese brand of “Omotenashi”, the most discerning level of services and pampering.
For its first experiential store here in Malaysia, Seibu has commissioned award-winning retail design expert, HMKM to design its department store at The Exchange TRX. The Exchange TRX: The Social Heart of the City
Set to be a multi-experience lifestyle destination, The Exchange TRX’s retail partnerships will feature new to market brands, flagship statement stores, experiential dining, leisure and entertainment concepts spanning across 500 stores, crowned by a 10-acre rooftop city park.
A distinct feature of The Exchange TRX’s retail precinct is its seamless connection to the park, delivering an experience of a ‘Mall in a Park’ and offers a unique opportunity to break down barriers between the indoors and outdoors. The intertwining, segmented park offers open green spaces with cascading greenery, water features and beautiful shaded areas that allows for anything from quiet contemplation, alfresco dining, community events, sports and children’s play, to serving as one of Kuala Lumpur’s most scenic locations to host red carpet galas, festivals, concerts, movie premiers, international exhibitions and more.
Complementing this central attraction will be a curated space within The Exchange TRX dedicated to aspiring local art, culture and lifestyle entrepreneurs. Expect live music, underground happenings, specialty stores, artisan markets, imaginative restaurants and collaborative co-working niches to spring up along pedestrianised streets and event facilities.
The Exchange TRX is targeted to open in phases from 2021 to 2025. The first phase of TRX Residences, one of the key components of The Exchange TRX is slated for launch in the first quarter of next year.
