Conceptualised as the first serviced suites in Asia integrating natural hot springs within the development, the unique development comprises three tower blocks in total, exceeding RM 400 million in gross development value (GDV). The estimated completion of the first block is slated at the end of three years after the launch.

The serviced suites come in studio, two-bedroom and three-bedroom variations ranging from 592 sq ft to 1,184 sq ft. There are also six luxurious Onsen Villas which start at 2,712 sq ft. The units start at RM 392,600.

The development has a dedicated entrance for residents and a grand lobby with green natural streetscape.

Applying the Sunway’s unique Build-Own-Operate business model, levels seven to 15 of of Sunway Onsen Suites’ will be managed by Sunway Lost World Hotel to cater to investors who prefer a hassle-free investment.

The development is located within a RM 2 billion GDV integrated development spanning 31 acres, which will include the proposed Lost World Mall, Medical Centre, Assisted Living with hotsprings facilities and additional education components.

Sunway City Ipoh Executive Director Wong Wan Wooi said, “Sunway Onsen Suites offers the best of urban conveniences which are all found in the integrated Sunway City Ipoh township, as well as the best of nature. For investors who want to capture the opportunities from Ipoh’s transformation into a world-class tourism hotspot, Sunway Onsen Suites is an ideal investment.”

Wong explained that in tandem with Ipoh’s rising acclaim as an international tourism destination and one of the best places to retire in the world, according to the Statistics Department, 7.6 million domestic tourists visited Perak last year, one of the top states with the highest tourist arrivals in Malaysia, representing a 5.7% increase compared to 2016, where some 7.2 million people visited the state. The state also recorded an increase in the arrivals of day-trip visitors to the state from 9.58 million to 12.47 million in 2017 compared to the year before.

To capture this trend, last year, Sunway had completed the development of an additional 20 villas in The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat, a new night-time attraction in its theme park named the Luminous Forest in the Lost World of Tambun.

This year, Wong said that Sunway will continue to expand its tourism offerings. “We have completed and opened the Sky Bar at the Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat, and we are building a brand new attraction at Lost World of Tambun which is slated for completion in September 2019.”

The Sky Bar is a luxurious bar located within a cave and extends to a terrace hovering 30 ft above ground overlooking the spectacular emerald lake and luscious green landscape in Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat.

The new attraction at Lost World of Tambun is a world-class, new multi-storeyed immersive water park which features rain fortresses, water slides and tiered pools. The new attraction features a 100m tunnel named the Adventure River offering thrilling experiences to guests. This new attraction will be the centerpiece of a newly themed surrounding area, fully submerging guest in nature’s theatrical landscape.

“We will continue to support the State’s tourism ambitions in the coming years through the development of tourism products and through active partnership with the State’s tourism promotion authorities,” said Wong.

Including Sunway Onsen Suites, Wong also said that Sunway Property will invest another RM 4 billion in Sunway City Ipoh in the next 15-20 years.

“We have completed about 70% of the 1,350-acre development and have invested RM 700 million here to date. To complement the current facilities we have built in Sunway City Ipoh; 1400 units of residences, Sunway College Ipoh, 174-room Sunway Lost World Hotel and Lost World of Tambun theme park, we have in the pipeline Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh, an expansion of the Sunway College campus, assisted living homes with hotsprings facilities, shopping mall, and a hilltop development,” he said.

Conceived in 1995, Sunway City Ipoh is now a world class township with two resorts namely, the Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat and The Lost World of Tambun, and has received world acclaimed awards, such as five FIABCI awards, namely two FIABCI Prix d’Excellence (International) awards clinched by Banjaran Hotsprings and Lost World of Tambun in 2012 and 2015 respectively, and another three FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards, which included the honour of Best Master Plan township in 2010.
