7,000 rejections @ affordable homes Johor?

Many developers shared with me about this issue before. Sometimes, those who wanted to buy affordable homes or the cheaper flats for example always fail at the last hurdle; obtaining loan approvals. The reason is not always that they could not afford the monthly instalments. It’s also because they could not show proof of stable and continuous income to the banks. Just a few days ago, it was reported in a few medias that the government has rejected 7,000 applications for the Rumah Mampu Milik Johor (RMMJ) throughout the state.
Many reasons were stated, including inability to get loan approval as well as applicants themselves no longer having interest with their applications. Let’s talk about the reasons why they were rejecting the offer from the state. The reason was because it was not the type they wanted. An example as per State Housing and Local Government committee chairman Datuk Abdul Latiff Bandi, “Some applicants rejected it as the houses they received are strata which is multilevel and not a landed property. This rejection will indirectly cause other applications including new ones to be stalled as we need to check whether existing units are still available or have been taken up.”
townhouseRMMJAccording to him, within 2016 there would be a total of 11,800 units of affordable homes completed while by the end of 2020 it should already hit 40,000 units. Seriously, information should be made easily available so that more Johoreans can benefit from this. Besides, the applicants who wanted to apply should also get a pre-approval for the loan that they could afford. This helps tremendously in ensuring everything is more efficient.
