Ampang, affordable high-rise or Gated and Guarded

I drove deep into Ampang two years ago to view a terrace home project which was slightly above RM500,000. It’s a gated and guarded project. It took a very long time, with all the traffic lights and the crawling traffic. I was driving there from Kelana Jaya. After viewing it, my wife said she did not like it. Since she is the one who will stay home most of the time, she has the final say. A few months later, I drove into that area again for a badminton game and this time, the trip took me just 25 minutes from office. Well, it does not seem that far or jammed anymore. Sometimes, timing is very important. If we would like to stay in areas prone to jams, then just get ready to change the lifestyle a little. Going to work earlier and coming home later might be the usual schedule. Anyway, this is KL, most of all areas are prone to jams. 🙂
AmpangWhat are some of the available high-rise for below RM500,000? Well, I could find a few condo listings in property guru.com.my  Take a look at the image. My focus is only on 1,000sf or around there. This size is comfortable enough for a family of 4. I always believe that due to the many negative news about the crime rates, it is better for me to buy a place which has security versus one without today or in future. We can clearly see that landed property within a gated and guarded environment carries a much higher premium compared to one without. Whether crime rate is increasing or decreasing, it does not take away the fact that all of us would prefer a potentially safer home for our loved ones.

IF ONLY I bought it? Haha. There’s no if only. I bought something else and my family has been enjoying our stay for the past one year after moving into Armanee @ Damansara Damai. The happiest? My daughter who’s asking to swim in the swimming pools or the playground everyday. As for those who are still thinking of gated and guarded and willing to change lifestyle as well as drive deep into Ampang through some slightly narrow roads and jams everyday, this might be a choice. Happy choosing and enjoy your choice.
