SEAPA Malaysia 2014 – Best Developer Award – Sunway Berhad

If you ask me what are the top three criteria I would consider before I buy a property, none of it would by the awards that the property developer has won. Seriously, I have not heard of many friends who buy a project because the developer has won lots of awards. If this is the case, then I think only the projects from the award winning developers would sell. Most of the time, smaller developers would find it tougher to even qualify and compete against bigger ones. If however you ask me, if both projects are similar, then how would I choose, I would tell you that I would choose the one with awards. Especially the international ones. I have not bought any properties by Sunway Berhad yet but congratulations to them for winning this and representing Malaysia.

The developer awards are judged based on a total of five criterias, which includes reputation image and CSR, quality of projects, track record, innovation and major achievements. The development awards on the other hand are judged based on seven criteria including design and amenities, location, value for money, use of space, construction and materials, unique selling points, state of completion and sales success. The Award recognizes the high calibre work within the Asian real estate industry, encompassing construction, architecture and interior design. Started in Thailand in 2005, the Asia Property Awards have since expanded to reward developments, consultants, architects and designers in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
